As I can see it the longer we are in Iraq the more of our men and women we are losing. This is a very dangerous war like all wars are and it needs to be stopped immediately, for the sake of all involved. So, everyone needs to rally around and encourage this war to be stopped immediately. This country and the families of all who have been lost, need to speak out and make sure this war is stopped immediately. Too much loss is hard on the soliders who are fighting this war and all the families that suffer along too, from their loss of loved ones. So, speak out and do not let this war destroy all who are involved, especially the soliders that are fighting the war and especially the loved ones of those that are lost so far. There is too much that needs to be done, especially for the ones that suffer from PTSD, from all that they have been through from the Iraq war.

I am writing a story based on the magical world created by J. K. Rowling for my own personal enjoyment.
I need to know a good spell that a witch would show to a skeptical muggle. Something not-to-big or scary, that can be performed indoors.

I've always been a fairly eloquent writer of the English language. However, whenever I visit this Yahoo Answers, I can actually feel my literary abilities slipping away. I blame this on the quality of what I'm reading...It's kinda like when one moves to a different region of the country and adopts the local accent. Anybody else have this problem? And do you think...these people...are really that bad at writing, or is it just an online thing?

I really enjoyed the straight forward and simple yet deep style this book was written in. Also, I liked that it was fairly short and not overly descriptive (I don't really enjoy books that pain-stakingly describe every aspect of the environment...). The different prespective and the fact that it provided a slight lesson into Igbo culture was also appreciated. Can anyone recommend other books that I might enjoy?

I wrote your name on the palm of my hand,
I clenched it into a fist.
I ran towards the sea . . .
Your name was beating so hard, in my palm,
As if a crazy heart . . .
I couldn't have you anymore,
Opened my bleeding fist,
Threw you towards those drunk waves.
I sat there, watching you dancing hot with the waves.

I enjoy reading stories about pioneer life in America-the day-to-day details. I've read Larraine Snelling's books and enjoyed her tales of Norwegian immigrants. Please share some more titles you've read on the pioneer subject.

It's about two boys who build a spaceship out of tin cans and, with the help of a proffessor or doctor in the neighborhood, fly to Mars. I recall that the "doctor" who helped them was Martian himself, a fact obvious to the reader, though the boys don't seem to be aware. Ring any bells with anyone?
