I enjoy reading stories about pioneer life in America-the day-to-day details. I've read Larraine Snelling's books and enjoyed her tales of Norwegian immigrants. Please share some more titles you've read on the pioneer subject.

You might enjoy the Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I believe there are 6 books in the series starting with Laura as a little girl. The books follow the growth of this young girl as her family moves further west with the last book ending with Laura as a married woman.

As noted in the previous comment Mrs. Mike is an extremely interesting book. Not only is it interesting but it captures the feelings of this young woman as she pioneers in the Canadian Wilderness.

Mrs. Mike is a young adultish type book about a very young American woman who marries a Canadian mountie in 1907. The situation is a out in the country and they live a lot like American pioneers did.

My Antonia by Willa Cather is one of the best. Also all of the Little House on the Prairie books are great even for an adult. Books about Abe Lincoln's childhood would also give an excellent view of that period.
