Depending on your tastes ... I recently read a couple of LUANNE RICE (Not to be confused with the Dracula novelist Anne Rice) novels which I enjoyed very much, Cloud Nine and Follow the Stars Home. I started reading some of her novels a couple of years ago and shared them with my mom and sister, who have now read a lot of her works and continue to circulate them my way once they've finished. If you like good characterization and story development, along with a strong sense of family, then Luanne Rice is a good bet.
One other book I just finished reading, and which is based on a true story about the woeful episode of leukemia clusters in Woburn, Massachusetts and how one attorney risked his entire practice and life to help the families affected by environmental pollution on the part of large corporations is A CIVIL ACTION. They made a movie out of this story, which starred John Travolta, and while the movie was decent ... once more, I found the book to be a lot more compelling and poignant (usually the case where books are made into movies). Take care!

I read Easy Prey too and loved it. John Sandford has a "Prey" series, Lucas is the same character in all of them. Mind Prey, Rules of Prey, etc. Check out his website and read them in order.

Also, I read Sullivan's Island by Dorothea Benton Frank and it was excellent!

just finished "The Bridge of San Luis Rey" by Thornton Wilder. A modern classic. Just before that, "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt. Thought that too was nice.

I just read "Rosemarys Baby" by Ira Levin. Really, really good and it only took me a day and a half to read it. Also recently finished "Running With Scissors" by Augusten Burroughs, excellent and very funny. I highly recommend both!
