When you’re creating as less subjective work of art do the titles come to you instinctively? If so, do you believe they fit the work and what you’ve said artistically? Or do you just slap on any old title that comes to mind? If it’s an abstract work does it really even need a title?

Are your titles well-thought out or are they ever afterthoughts? And have you ever come up with a cool title or phrase that you liked and becided to paint a painting based on the title?

Here is a painting I finished two nights ago:

http://pics.livejournal.com/unmired/pic/0007dxpy/g86

Do you think the title (which came instinctively to me) fits the title?

I read it when I was a little girl so it was around 1994-1999 and I was like 6 or 8 or something. Anyway, it was about this little boy (but maybe he wasn't a boy. maybe he was like a animal. maybe a hippo. for some reason a hippo stands out)

these are the things i remember

he eats an apple
buries the apple,
the apple grows into an apple tree
an apple hits him on the head,
he befriends the apple
he sits under the tree threw the season (i remember snow but i also remember that in another pic it was sunny)

oh and it was a picture book

has anyone read/ heard of it?

please help!

Smiles. Two more then I have probably exhausted my repetoire.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, every where you look,
From the Banker down the street, to the baker handing out treats
even for that guy there, being robbed by a local thief.
It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas
from every shop I pass,
But the sweetest fragrance yet, is not one I will bet
is from our cars, exhaust gas.
And so on............
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Frosty the Snowman
wasn't doing well this year;
selling sweet "snowcones"
to those stuck at home
in the North Country, I hear
Frosty the Snowman
lived a fairytale life I'd say
but decided to go where the snow don't blow
saying "I may be back one day."
It might have been the ice on his chin
or a cousin deep in the south
but when old frosty set his mind
he said "I'm getting out"
Now Frosty the Snowman
is "alive" as he can be
as he relaxes with tall, cool drink,
underneath a large Palm tree
Jesus was an aborted attempt (by Julius Caesar)to duplicate Abel to repay God for Abels murder. If Jesus had actually been the son of God (in Heaven) and he came and they murdered him that would be the 2nd son of God man murdered. Deeper doo-doo. The savior woiuld have to be a son of man to be a repayment of a debt. Duh!
Now come back with some born-agan crap.
The remains of the anti-christ are what now remains of the human race. We are not the human race. We are what remains after a sentence of death for the collective murder of Abel. Jesus obviously did not cut it. The only question that remains is; "What can be done at this point to recieve clemency from the capital punishment sentence given to Cain and inherited by us?
I am going to start to learn to play the electric guitar after Christmas (self-teaching). Where can I see the chords or songs to base my learning off of?
I have been playing piano for ten years now, and guitar and pennywhistle for a few years as well, and have a fairly good knowledge of music theory. I feel that it is time for me to start learning another instrument though. What would you recommend for me? I enjoy all styles of music, and have a deep love of the violin, flute, alto saxaphone, harp, cello and bass guitar and would be willing to play any of these instruments as they all 'speak' to me and I love listening to the music they produce! Also, I would have to self-study, as there are not many music teachers where I live, who teach these instruments, and if they do, they are way out of my price range =) what do you think I should learn? Thank you so much for you effort and time! =)
I bought my boyfriend of 3 1/2 years a brand new fender acoustic guitar because his other was quite old. I noticed when I got it home that the second thickest string (not sure what it is called) isn't coiled as tightly to the top as the others. It looks as though it is coming loose... Does that matter? If so, would be be able to tighten it, or should I buy him a new strng for it, too?
Thanks alot! =] I really want him to be able to play it on Christmas Eve when I give it to him.
WE the human beings have progressed a lot,we have come a long way from the stone age to the present.And still we are to go a long way. I donot think that we had any chance of conquering the above three that is death, disease and old age.
