They work in musical theatre, but then you also have to be able to sing and act. Given that there are always more qualified dancers looking for a job than there are openings, your chances for employment as a dancer are greatly diminished when you can only go after a limited niche market. You would need to rely more on other jobs to get you by and only dance on the side when the right role occasionally comes around.

Well anywhere that you want I guess. I would suggest looking for dances that are more accepting of women of all sizes such as bellydance or other African dances. You could join Fat Chance Belly Dance (http://www.fcbd.com). Of course I don't think you'll make that much money. Even if you become a successful bellydancer of any style you usually spend all your money on new costumes, music, and finger cymbals. Also, the jobs don't really pay that much, unfortunately.

Why do you feel that you need a job as a dancer. I'm sure if you are overweight you will have to put up with rude remarks from customers. I would suggest that you look for another line of work where body size isnt so important.
