*****
Sentry

With eye’s unyet accustomed
I walk into the darkness
Me and my moon
We watch the paths
And keep the lanterns lit
So, along the way, the shades of gray
Won’t lash out at you
Thrash about with you

With leg’s unyet weary
We step onto the stones
Me and my tomtom
We are the back-beat tempo
That makes the toe tapping, slightly
An odd rolling rhythm in the trees that sway
Bring no harm to you
Call alarm to you

With a heart unyet broken
A story waits to unfold
Me and the poets
Send out songs to you
Words littered in uneven piles, stacking
Meanings with substance on purposeless flights
Beg tokens from you
Masquerade for you

*****

as some of you seem to be roundly condemning the guy for being the first person to drop the A bomb on Hiroshima in 1945, I take it that you would have ended the war differently. So allowing for the fact that hundreds of thousands of Allied soldiers lives were at stake, How would you have ended the war with Japan without the use of the Atomic Bomb???

I'm reading this book and even SparkNotes character descriptions are confusing. How are all the characters realted to one another: brother, sister, mother, father, cousin, daughter, etc?

Do you ever think that god only puts on your plate what you acn handle? why is there bad things that happen to good ppl and dont deserve it but the bad ppl get everything in their lives and dont have to work for it and they can screw others over and still be happy w/o any doubt of their life. are you like that or do you know ppl like that and why is that?

I'm so confused!
I have a strong interest in classical ballet. but -
I really want to become an accident & emergency surgeon, that is my main career goal..
I am aware this is probably a strange contrast, two very different interests.
If I can't make it into medical school, I would love to teach ballet as a second option.
I plan to go to sixth form [college] next year to study physics, biology & chemistry .
I'm just stuck because i have been told to be a dance teacher i would need to go to a ballet college. but i am not going to do that..
I'm not sure what to do!
Can i become a ballet teacher if i decide at 18 becoming a surgeon isnt for me?

[ Due tocertain circumstances i have NOT been able to take up ballet seriously until about now. therefore i am only a beginner and i am not sure as to whether i still stand a chance starting so late at age 15.]

-thanks!

I've been an Atheist since I was 12...I'm 22 now...I'm still very much an Atheist. My family is very upset, but I need proof. I'm the kind of person who needs proof that something exists or is real. Can anyone use examples from the Bible (not your own life) and prove something to me?

I would love some answers from all of you critics that dissect a poem without hesitation, as well as you poets who are hesitant to post anything here because of said critics.

"vitz" or "witz". I was just curious as to the nationality/origin (?) of these names.

Thank you!

Like the old Steve Allen show, "Meeting of the Minds", who would you like to bring together to discuss ideas, experiences, philosophies, etc. Mix and match, different eras.

I'd like to have Michelangelo, DaVinci, Chaucer and Dante, two artists and two authors, each with different approaches to presenting religious concepts.

Or maybe Abner Doubleday, Babe Ruth, Joe Jackson and Ted Williams?

You?

....a market for adult fairytales, i have an idea for a fantasy novel based around celtic mythology but set in a modern times, it begins with a young girl who is taken on a field trip with her school friends, she stubbornly ventures into a fairy fort, when told not to, she then stumbles across real-life fairies. The story cuts to present time, and she starts to remember what she saw at the time, although she cant be sure if it really happened or was just her over active imagination..anyway, weird occurances start to take place, and eventually, havent quiet figured out yet, shes transported to the "otherworld" well known in celtic mythology and weird and wonderful things ensue from there!

Do these type of stories only appeal to kids and teenagers?

I want to write it quite dark, with black humour thrown in etc.

its called The Complete Guidebook on How to Fly I instantly fell in love with the name! its about this 12 year old girl who was chosen by the CIA to be an experiment for them. she accepts the offer, and is flown to a secret military base in Nevada. She is put to sleep for two years, and when she wakes up, she finds she can fly, but is restricted by the scientists. she can only do it while in thier sight. she also finds that she is not the first experiment, there are about five other kids with special powers there, but she was by far the most important. then she learns of the secret of her powers, and the the truth of her future...
i dont want to tell the rest in fear that someone might steal my story so please dont! i worked really hard on this! so do you like the idea of the story? please tell me!
