Take a moment, think about the question. I'm looking for deep philosophical answers.

This is NOT a sexual question. Please do not answer it as such.

Some very, very good answers so far. I think a couple of you missed the point of the question, but a couple others are spot on!

Deep philosophical answers..... not from me.
My answer: quite simple.
Just b/c you wouldn't, it does not mean that I automatically would. Same as if you would, that doesn't mean I wouldn't. Regardless, I have a mind too and I would think for myself. Moreso if it was something I felt strongly about, or something I liked or didn't like.
Guess this is not a philosophical answer, see?

I can think of many situations where you wouldn't, where I would. I could ask the same question that you asked. You might not do things that I think should be done. If someone was killing my child, it is possible you might believe that getting into the middle of something that did not directly involve you, so you wouldn't help. I of course would do just the helping to save my daughter.

So, the bottom line is, what is the issue, and I can respond. It is a relativistic situation, and therefore needs the details to make a proper response.

Lastly, if you say you wouldn't kill the Pope, I would agree and would not kill the Pope either. So, it depends.

Independent thinking means making sense of the world based on your own observations and experiences rather than jut depending on the word of others. It means trusting your own ability to make judgments, even if they contradict what others say. It means acting in accordance with these judgments, even if you sometimes make mistakes. An independent thinkers knows it's psychologically better to make your own mistakes than someone else's.

Independent thinking is not necessarily rational or critical. Sometimes you make mistakes; sometimes it's difficult to know if your beliefs are your own or simply uncritically borrowed. No one ever said independent thinking is easy.

Critical thinking is a tool that you as an independent thinker can use. It can help you decide whether your old beliefs are sensible. It can help you examine new ideas or help you solve problems in reasonable ways.

I don't care if you would or not. I refuse to live my life by the actions or thoughts of another person. That is exactly the type of philosophy that breeds the 'herd mentality' and produces a generation of followers.
This is one of the biggest problems we have in society today. The inability of people to think for themselves.

No not necessarily because I am not a sheep. I wouldn't prevent myself from doing something I wanted to do if I thought it was the right course of action to take. I would think for myself and be true to my own moral standards and ethical code of conduct. What you do or don't do is entirely up to you, I wouldn't be influenced by the choices YOU made. I accept that you have your own mind, free will and what you do is your choice. What you do isn't influenced by me, and like wise, what I do (or don't!) isn't influenced by you...

Normally, if you wouldnt, then why should I? shall be the attitude. But then it depends, and there shall be many things in this world, which you wouldnt but I would. There shall be many things in this world which I wouldnt, but you would. When it is one such thing that you wouldnt and I would, then I would!

It would depend on what you were talking about - which has not been made clear.

So the answer has to be NO.
