I think he wrote a lot of very popular light music songs around the 1930's to 1950's but there is no information about his life anywhere that I can find on the internet. Many thanks.

Do you have to have a lot of experience to submit to the roles? Would they even consider giving you an audition when you submit?

Ok, this is a long shot, but still. My little brother was reading a book on military history on the internet, and had it bookmarked. Unfortunatly the bookmark was deleted, and we haven't been able to retrace our steps to the page.

All he remembers are that the book was in three parts, titled:
Ancient Warfare/Battles (he's not sure which)
Medieval Warfare/Battles
Modern Warfare/Battles

It had an introduction called "The Military Thinker".

It included a story about when the patrol groups from two opposing armies stumbled across each other, realised they were equally matched and so if anyone fired their guns they would mostly all be killed, so they threw stones at each other instead.

It told of how the "greatest military mind" in the world was killed by a lucky shot from a Prussian Gunner.

It's almost certainly an "old" book, as it was on gutenberg.org, which hosts classics and books with expired copyrights, so over 50/100 years old (not sure which).

ANY help would be great :)

Who would win in a battle to the death? Spartans or Beserkers?

I recently asked for help in trying to trace a Marcus Pawson.I recently found a rucksack with only his name in it.The bag was discovered in Birmingham uk.I searched the UK Births Register to no avail. Then decided to search Genesreunited to see if anyone had a person of that name in their family tree.I struck lucky and found 1 person that matched the age of the person i was looking for, Via the persons Grandmother who lived in Scotland. The lost rucksack has now been reunited with its rightful owner, after i delivered the bag in person. The chances of finding the owner to the lost bag within 7 days were like winning the lottery, but i managed to do it. Thought that i would let everyone know. - Think positive, and your effort and hard work will be worth it in the end.

I am reading a book on logic called "Possible Worlds"; Question: I assume that 2+2=4 is necessarily true, what if someone said that they can conceive of a world where 2+2=5; would this be enough to consider 2+2=4 a contingent truth? Same with square circles; how do you defend the position that circles can't be square when someone says that there could be a world (Limbo or Heaven...) where circles are square. How do you disprove such a statement? What or how do we demarcate between "All possible worlds" and the impossible?

Let's say YOU KNOW you're a good writer. Let's say you ask for a critique. Others in the same boat always tend seem to find something "wrong" with your story. I got confused here. This isn't clear..blah blah blah. AHA! There should be a comma here!! That sort of thing.

How does it affect you when no one wants to give you the pat on the back you deserve or at least say you're on the right track. I think it sucks.

It's funny because a lot of people will think that because they are "published" so they feel they have the authority to dis your work, but, as we all know, the amount of published garbage is voluminous. And "published" could mean just about anything nowadays....

im talking about younger than 22 or so, seems to me that you sort of have to live a bit of life before you can be an intriguing writer, but i could be wrong, seems like the case most of the time though wouldnt you say?

Hello. First of all this isn't a question about my book so don't give me a "What ever you think is best." I want opinions. I'm set on writing about a heroin.

Question:
What do you think males writing books from a females point of view and vice versa? Do you think it weakens the character\book or are our minds similar enough that it makes no difference?
