I can't sing for my life, but I really want to become an actor. How can I start? Where can I start acting, but something that's not a musical?

I am going into chapter 16 of my novel but have spent the last week basically cruising the web and watching satellite television. I am drawn to movies about writers but have lost momentum. Has this happened to you? How have you combatted it?

I already have the novel outline (basic ideas and character development) but just feel lethargic and resist writing. I've read portions of it to my husband and he thinks that it is good and he is a tough critic but now he's asking for pages everyday and I don't have them. Any tricks of the trade that I should know? Serious answers only please. I know I should get off of my **** and just write but I need clues as to what other writers do when facing this dillema.

I am auditioning for Oliver and Children of Eden next weekend.

Would anyone use the song "But you go on" from Annie Warbucks as an audition piece? Its a fun belty number... my only concern is that the best part is the end, so you would have to find a good place in the middle to start a 16 bar audition...

Good audition piece? Where would you start?

its very wild and i make the adventure original and crazy, i dont describe much cause i hate describing and i think its too filler but i do describe whats needed. if i were to offer it to a publisher would it even be looked at due to the shortness? either way i have already finished half of a sequel. The book title is: That Time Again. its about a planet of immortal people and I am the main character who is king of it. We are the only planet still remaining in the universe as we destroyed all the planets. One day we go on a space trip due to some dreams my wife has been having. I also swear alot in it and I've been told that only adds to the comedic value. Btw I am only 18
thanks for any help :)

Hey, My Whole life I have been an Actor/Singer. My Parents have always been WAY unsupportive. I know that if my parents REALLY wanted to help me, the would have done something pro-active by now. Every step I have taken in my Career has been on my own, My mom always tells me that just because I'm good looking, doesn't mean I have to be famous, that there is alot more in acting then just that, But I understand that. I'm REALLY good. Every part I have ever auditioned for I end up getting it, and I have been the lead in every play I ever ever Tryed out for. I am trying so hard to make it on my own, but I can't even get my parents to drive me to my auditions 95% of the time. And we live like 30 minutes away from a Studio. How can I convince my parents how much I want this, and how good I am. Or if thats impossable, how can I go farther in my Career on my own? Thanks for reading this long *** question, I just think its important you get all the Details. Sorry for Typos, i typed this fast.

"The Geneology Project" claimes that for less than $200.00 one can send in for a swab kit to trace their ancestral origins through the mail.

Sounds cool, but is there evedince that DNA testing can accurately trace back that far?

A middle-aged Virginian man with no history of any misdemeanour began to stash child pornography and sexually molest his 8-year-old stepdaughter. Placed in the court system, his sexual behaviour became increasingly compulsive. Eventually, after repeatedly complaining of headaches and vertigo, he was sent for a brain scan. It showed a large but benign tumour in the frontal area of his brain, invading the septum and hypothalmus - regions known to regulate sexual behaviour.

After removal of the tumour, his sexual interests returned to normal. Months later, his sexual focus on young girls rekindled, and a new scan revealed that bits of tissue missed in the surgery had grown into a sizeable tumour. Surgery once again restored his behavioural profile to "normal".

This case renders concrete the issue of free will. Did the man have free will? Was he responsible for his behaviour? Can a tumour usurp one's free will?

Whenever I draw one of my pictures, my rough work looks so fogged because I go over lines repeatedly, even the anatomy guidelines.
If I move my pencil too slow the line gets wobbily, and too fast might make me lose control and mess up.

So in the end I make so many lines I lose the basic form of what I wanted in the first place.

Any techniques you've discovered that might help?

I pratice alot
