It's so dang annoying! Every good book I read, they have to go and wreck it by making it into a movie! Sometimes the movie is good, but its never half as good as the book. And then people watch it and think they know the story when actually there's so much missed out!!!!!

Anyone here who lived during WWII or knows alot about history know how people view the Kamikaze pilots in WWII. Were they viewed as incane, brainwashed, and murderers like the suicide bombers today? If not how were they viewed, and was it because the kamikaze pilots were attacking only military vessels and killed only soldiers compaired to the suicide bombers who kill soldiers and civilians? I am just curious on how different wars compair to eachother throughout history?

It is quoted in the sentence: "To those who propose to substitute Communism for this intense individualism the answer, therefore, is: The race has tried that. All progress from that barbarous day to the present time has resulted from its displacement."

I read the book first but couldn't get on with it.. I found it a little overwhelming at first but a good read. Then I saw I saw the film adaptation a few times and have just got half way through reading the novel for the 2nd second time. I love it! What thinks you?

My opinion of the movie is lowering with every page of the novel that I read. The film leaves out way too much, leaves much to be explained (i.e. there are blank moments when the viewer is supoosed to guess what's going on), Sophie and Langdon find clues to their mission way too quickly, there is no suspense... the list is endless. Anyone got anything to add?

There is so much more in the book than you would ever find in the film because all what you make be looking for, just isn't there.

Who else thinks that Ron Howard was just cashing in on a good novel? I do - it was rushed and could have been written and directed with a little more thought.

I wonder what Dan Brown makes of the film?

Which book stores will have live animals (owls and such) at their Harry Potter Midnight Parties? A few of my friends were talking about this and I wanted to know if it was true and which book store it is. The time I should be at the party would also be great.

I realize that Hemingway spoke of the running of the bulls in Pamplona, and that this is a yearly event. I have often wondered when the event began, the historical signifance behind it, and if like so many other traditions, does it have a particular meaning that only someone from that part of the country would understand?
PLEASE, PLEASE, only serious answers. Nor do I wish to hear from anyone from PETA. I want only to know the history behind this event.

I am 15 years old and I hate to read...."boring" books.
Like books that arent exciting from begining to end or have a lot of foreign words in it.
Right now I am reading hunchback of notre dame
and I hate it
I dont want to read it any more
I am totally in to Harry Potter
and I like mysteries
I dont like romance novel (not the one my grandma reads) but if its like teen romance with other stuff then its ok i guess
and I like fantasy books like the harry potter series (like witches and wizards) but all the books I read about witches and wizards I end up comparing to harry potter
so I dont know
what books should i read that arent boring through out the book
oh and my reading level is college level so if a book is difficult to read thats fine
