Head for Prithvi. They have a notice board where calls for actors / groups are posted.
Most do not ask for money from actors. If one does, do not touch.

prithvi theatre at juhu , go to their admn . and let them know that u would want to join a group , they will definitely guide you to some group .
remember as an actor u will not have to pay , but u r supposed to get paid , its not a acting school that u r joining ..
hence by any chance dont let them know that u are ready to pay to join them ...inturn just ask in the last , that would you get any thing paid , bcos in theatre one hardly gets paid that is if u r a newcomer, but u generally get ur conveyence paid .
and yes if its a social concern then it depends if the group is funding itself .
