A philosopher is someone who philosophizes. I'd say that everyone here that gives a meaningful answer is a philosopher, and can be introduced as such. However, most introduce themselves depending on the situation. Therefor I would not always introduce myself as a philosopher. For example, if I write books but as my job I am a professor of philosophy and I'm going to a philosophical convention, then I would most surely introduce myself as a philosopher, and not a writer. See what I'm saying? No? Ah well, my real point was in the first couple sentences.

Ha ha. All I can picture is Mel Brooks in History of the World as Comicus, at the Unemployment Office: 'I'm a stand-up philosopher!' Bea Arthur: "Your a BS artist."

Well, I believe that I think philosophically (in that I love abstract consideration), but I have not developed an epistemology of my own that is sufficiently distinct from earlier philosophies to deserve a name.
See, I do not believe that "philosopher" is a title one should EVER adopt unto oneself. It is for others to decide that your philosophy has sufficient merit to be worthy of emulation.
Perhaps that is the best answer ... you may call yourself a philosopher when your apostles tell you so.

Yes, time place context, all are important in how i label myself.
Most times i can get away with "arm-chair philosopher", expressed tongue-in-cheek, and i'm fine with that.
I know i am a philosopher in the same way i know i'm a lesbian. I've taken stock of my emotions, my beliefs, my behaviors, and my desires, and consequently, I just KNOW.

Among a group of humans who measure worth by financial success, I'd introduce myself as a philosopher [meaning I had no wealth, but I was {implied} better'n them]

Those of us who file a U.S. federal tax return know that there is a block near the end of the 1040 for "Occupation."
I often enter "Poet/Philosopher" in that block, regardless of what the W-2s say.
