There are really TEN reasons:
Top Ten Reason Americans won Revolution:
French kept surrendering; Brits tied up taking prisoners;
British marched on the left of the road, Americans on the right; never made contact;
Too may tea breaks!
Cricket takes so long to play ( versus baseball) most British troops never got into battle;
Reinforcements coming from Europe got lost in Bermuda Triangle;
Never got those Red Coats back from the cleaners.;
Stayed in towns, watching BBC America on cable and getting homesick;
Didn't have exact change for GW Bridge, Jersey Turnpike, etc...
Patriots had Brady and Belicheck;
and the Number One Reason:
Thought they were fighting the NEW YORK Yankees; spent their time in the Bronx booing A-Rod

Of the choices given, B is the best. But it is not complete.
The British were not happy with the expenses of winning the war. The did not precieve the long range monetary benefits of keeping the colonies. It was draining their treasury with little coming in. They were tired of fighting wars because they had been at war for sporadically for about 200 years. They also did not see any chance of sharing the parliment with the colonies. The list goes on and on....

B.They made it too costly for the British to win.
George Washington may have won four of the thirteen major battles that he commanded, but his overall strategy was better. He retreated quickly rather than lose his army (Battle of Brooklyn). He used surprise to punish his enemy (Battle of Trenton). He made use of available weaponry (Battle of Monmouth). He used logistics better (Battle of Boston).
The American hurt the British at sea. The British were superior, but the Americans under John Paul Jones exposed weaknesses in their tactics.
The Americans also used their technology (shipbuilding, weaponry, food storage) and economic strength (agricultural, light manufacturing, and regional trade) to their advantage.

Basically America was too far away, and I think the deciding factor was that fighting in America was totally alien to the British army at that time. It was used to fighting the European way, with strict formations fighting in open country, with the enemy coming at you in more or less the same way. When the Americans used those methods, they invariably lost. W hen they used their own unorthodox methods, with hit and run tactics, hiding in the woods and behind trees and picking off the British soldiers in their bright red uniforms, they invariably won. Also, the war in America was largely secondary to the conflicts and tensions in Europe.

Neither of the answers are correct. The people that the redcoats were fighting were mainly of British extraction, kith and kin, they were fighting for a German king who was not liked, it would be like pitting one state against another knowing that members of your family were on the opposite side.

The answers given go hand-in-hand, but I would choose "B"
P.S. Battles cost money. It does not matter who won how many.
