I'm looking for a good history book about Ancient Rome. I would prefer one that stretches from Romulus and Remus to the end of the eastern empire. If you recommend one that does not have this span please say what period/s of the roman period it encompasses.

TY

I know Britain was hurting at the end of WWII. But at the same time, she had the opportunity to be bigger than ever. ALL of her competitors were either defeated or in much worse shape than she was. Britain could have had all of Germany's holdings, all of italy's holdings, most of africa, the middle east, large parts of assia, and many many other places where either the former colonial powers went away or where the local governments were much to weak to prevent a British takeover from happening. Also could have vastly derailed other European countries who could have posed a challenge from recovering from the war. Do you agree with me, or am I flat out wrong!!!

Can you add to the list or, perhaps, do you believe that any of the so-called causes or origins should be removed from the list? (I shall award the BEST ANSWER to the BEST argument)

Causes and Origins of the American Civil War: A Summary

There were a series of significant events which greatly affected States' Rights, the Union, African Americans and accelerated the American Civil War. These historical events are commonly referred to as the "Causes of the American Civil War" and are listed without significant order: States' Rights (Bill of Rights and the 10th Amendment), High Tariffs, Nullification Crisis, Missouri Compromise, Kansas-Nebraska Act, Manifest Destiny, Dred Scott Case, Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, Bleeding Kansas, Crittenden Compromise, John Brown, and President Abraham Lincoln's election (Lincoln didn't receive a single Southern electoral vote).

sigh. acting acting acting... it is hard to break into acting. I have a few acting books and a million movies. I learned new things. I thought that in order to be like the character you have to imitate the actor a lot & look at their moves & do what they do & how they laugh smile etc. If you're a great imitator than that works well for you. but I have also learned that in order to be this character you can't just imitate him/her you have to be him/her. You have to understand him/her and go into research about them sometimes it takes weeks or months to get into character you have to convince yourself that you are that person.. and i sort of use Angelina Jolie's way of doing it. For example she doesn't try to fake herself when she acts. she only eliminates the part of her that doesn't fit with the character because she truly is the character. If you can truly play someone that person is a part of you already you just have to find them and ignore every other part of you that is not needed

A New Wind to Follow

For the moment the wind has stopped blowing
So I have nothing to follow.

I feel lost. Question, where do I go from here? Has my journey ended? Perhaps it’s time for me to take control.

Should I take a new step in a unfamiliar direction?
I want to but my body feels numb.

Maybe in a way I’m trying to tell myself I’m not ready to take control
I guess I have to wait for another wind to follow.

Anyone with any experience with these stage props? They
are expensive enough that I don't want to get it wrong when
staging a fight scene. How easily do they really shatter?
Any hidden dangers I wouldn't know about? Thanks for the

After the successes of THE ROAD and THE PESTHOUSE, I set out to write my own postapocalyptic story, this dealing with a bleak outlook on manifest destiny. The story is written in the fashion of Cormac McCarthy and Ernest Hemingway. Anyway, I'm hoping to write the greatest postapocalyptic Western ever, and in doing so I hope that I can get some help here. I could use some ideas (for instance, the Oregon Trail is actually an ancient interstate overgrown and caked with ash). The event that ruined existence may have been a supervolcano eruption, maybe not. Suggestions would be greatly valued.

Is this painting suppose to reflect agnosticism from a religious beliefs standpoint?
Agnostic means one who feels the knowledge to prove or disprove god is non-exsistent or unattainable.
What are your thoughts?
