At least you made me laugh.

I am doing my tasks, still I feel not like doing them. I would rather sit in a beautiful garden and have a chat with my friends. So I feel like doing something, at least not what I have to do.

And the splash of water in the face makes indeed a difference -:)

Having been the slave of duty, I now know better. Go and do something that pleases you, even if it's only lying down and daydreaming. After that you can always do what has to be done, better than you would otherwise have done it.

Do what you mentioned--sit in a beautiful garden & have a chat with your friends. (That is, if they're not busy DOING something!) Sometimes when I've been taking care of my tasks for hours, I just draw a blank. It's so overwhelming, & I feel like "someone" is pushing me to get them done (me!) & I'll actually say outloud "If I don't do this, the sky won't fall!" So, I take a well earned break doing whatever gives me pleasure, & the sky doesn't fall, & I eventually catch up. When we get to the point you expressed, it's really best to take time out & don't even give a thought to the stuff you stopped doing. You'll be refreshed, feel a lot better when you get back to your tasks, & probably do a better job of them. Consider it your own, personal "treat." Enjoy!

Hey! shabarack got in just before me! Wise answer.

Just lie there, and think about whatever it is that you should be doing, or what you would be doing if you weren't feeling like doing nothing. When you have this straight in your mind, and you know exactly what you want to do, go and splash cold water in your face. This should give you a boost which will last for about a minute. Within this minute drink a glass of water and then start doing the work you were thinking about doing. Note that this probably won't work more than once a day, so when your willpower wanes again, you should find a different way to give yourself a boost.

The TV remote is ever so handy... But, I find books are a lot more interesting.

Bathing in the sun, sitting in the breeze, snoozing and dream a sweet dream.

Sleep. I love to sleep, especially in the daytime. I can never sleep enough. Failing that, taking the dogs for dog walkies. We all enjoy that. (By we all, I mean me and the dogs; not a general we all.)

Do something while you can. It is not always going to be that way.

MEDITATE! And wait for nirvana to "hit you"! (Nirvana as I understand it is the state where you get rid of ALL desire.)
