Its real neat and mysterious to read all this info and speculate and imagine, etc.
But, really, the answer to you question is that there is NO way to know until it actually happens.
No one can really PREDICT when the world will end. Many people have apparently agreed and tried to show evidence that it will definitly end on Dec 21, 2012 but that does not mean that it really will.
There have been other times in history where several groups and individuals have said a certain thing and backed it up with vague facts, etc. but the event or circumstance never happened. So, just because a website is put up with a few mysterious intriguing predictions doesn't mean it is true.

Dr. Ima Dumaz of the Strategic Testers of Useless Peoples Impending Doom, has indicated he has proof that the world will indeed end on that day. He sites various passages from the National Examiner during the year 1997 as undeniable proof of our impending demise.
"If you read between the lines in the article titled "1st Lady Hillary Clinton met Aliens in the Lincoln Bedroom", you will see references to Nostradamus and his predictions. I have also found in the July 10th edition from that year under an article entitled "Eat All the Dirt You Want to Lose Weight", a reference to Cleopatra and her mystic, Moronimus. He told her that the world would end in 2012."
Some other scientists representing S.T.U.P.I.D. disagree with Dumaz's findings.

We don't know when the end of the world will be. People have been speculating about that for thousands of years and they haven't been right yet. The fact that the Mayans came up with that date doesn't mean it's going to happen then. So that might be the end, but I doubt it.

predicting the apacolypse has been going on since Nero was throwing Christians to the lions, every turn of the Century, every end of the millenia, the 7th Day Adventists had their day in 1912, the Jim Jones cult and wacko in Waco both had their days, every passing of Haley's comet, eclipse of the sun and other end-of earth prophesies that i'm sure i missed. One thing you can be sure of, the arsenals of the US and Russia can obliterate a million Hiroshimas.....anyway, sleep tight.

I doubt that they would be selling t-shirts if they actually thought the end of the world was in 5 years. That would seem trite.

Scientists all agree that's the day the world will end. Other experts believe it will happen two days earlier.

If you or I die on that day from some unknown explosion or such, how do we know that it is actually the end of the world? who is left to prove it? If it is the end of the world, as we know it, who will be around to know it? hmmm!!!!
