I'm looking for a website that has lots of informateion on planning a novel. I'd like to write a novel, but need a way to organize my ideas etc. What's a good site that has lots of commentary on this?

I have this beautiful family tree with over 1000 ancestors. The problem is, on some of them that I have birth/death location on, I have only part of the Information on the location.

Like with my Mother who was born in 1932 (no census info. yet) I know she was born in Boswell, Oklahoma. The state has changed since 1932 and I can't find out if Boswell was the town or county. If it was the town, I would like to know what county it was in.

It would be nice if there were a site that you could just input what you know and it gives you the Information that is missing.
Is there such a place or am I just dreaming?

So I'm heading off to Hawaii with my family tomorrow, for 9 days! :D I'm definitely excited, but I want good teen-girl-mature-summer books. Anyone have any good books that are like Dreamland by Sarah Dessen or Just Listen by Sarah Dessen? Suspenseful, Maybe a little sexual/mature, take big/surprising turns...?

Yesterday, I had a very long conversation with my friend about culture and instinct. My friend claimed that they are two different things, while I on the other hand, claimed that culture and instinct are pretty much the same. I gave an example of the following...

Say someone is invading your land, and you find that defending it helps block the invaders, and so your outcome would be you preserving your land, right? Well, doesn't this become culture as well? Culture, to me, IS instinct, and instinct IS culture.

What do you think? Is there a fine line between instinct and culture, does it depend, or are they both the same exact thing? Elaborate.

Ok bhuddists think life is an illusion.... but this is supported mathematically our mass compared to the mass of the universe is well its small so small a number in fact any mathematician would round it to zero.

So if we dont have a mass then what are we? Are we simply figments of someone elses imagination that doesn't exist?

If someone (who didn't exist) chopped a tree down (that didnt exist) in a forest (that didnt exist) with nobody (that didnt exist) around to hear it would it make a non existent sound?

My name is Curtis, Curtis Ashe Eviscolft. I know, I know, I have a very rare name.
Most people always say how lucky I am to have it, but I acually hate it. It gets so
annoying when people tell meI do. So anyways, Im 15 years old and I live in Shelton,
Washington. It's such a small ghetto town where alot of rapers and druggies live.
I use to live in Olympia, but we moved here just so we could live closer to my
grandparents who are getting weaker and weaker day by day. I don't really miss any
of my Olympia friends, not one bit. They all tell that im emo and goth, only when they saw
one recent picture of me. It makes me want to hurt them. But not all of them. One of them,
Den, She was always nice to me.She told me that no matter what I look like, emo, or
goth, that she will still like me. But as a friend of course. But she moved to Texas.
I miss her so much. I wish I could be there with her. Well, anyways, Im 5'8, I have
Black hair a little bit above my shoulders, I can admit, I dress im black most of the
time. but hey, you've got to admit, Im hotter looking in black then im colors.
"Curtis!" My mom called. She sounded kind of mad, so I didn't respond back to her.
"Curtis! Get over here, right now!" She yelled louder this time. So i slowly walked
to where I heard he voice. I walked into the living room, and there she was. Holding
Something wet and slimey up with her thumb and finger. "yea." I asked her.Trying to sound innocent.
"What could this possibly be, Curtis? Do you reconise this certain object by any chance?" She
asked me with a hight pitched voice. I acually did know what it was. It was her favorite
dress that i threw in the little fish pond in the front of the house.I only did it cause
I was real pissed off at her at the time and I wanted to make her angry. I was going to
admit that I did it, but I tought of what she would do to me afterwards. "um, no. I have
no idea what it is or what happened. Sorry." I responded back to her. Trying not to smile.
When she walked away she mumbled something under her breath, but I couldn't really make it out.
I've always been the loner in the family. No one really understands me. No one really
wants to either. My little brother thinks im a spawn of satan, My little sister thinks
Im a big monster that wants to eat her, and my big sister doesn't look at me or talk to
me. I see them all as strangers. I dont even know how old they all are. Not like I would
care.
It's my first day of school today. I hate first and last days. First days suck because
you don't know anyone there exept for a few people that aren't in any of your classes,
and everyone picks on you. last days also suck, because everyone is giving everyone eles
hugs and saying "oh, I'll Miss you so much", even when they see each other every day over
the summer.I hate it so much. So, anyways, I got lost on my way to homeroom. I looked
around, looking lost and waitting for someone to help me. Then some girl came up and
asked me, "Hey, your that one new guy. It's Curtis, right?" "yeah." I said quickly in
response. She put out her hand and said, "Well then, hello Curtis. My name is Susan,
Susan Baxwell." I just looked at her hand as if I didn't know what to do with it.
"Your suppose to shake it." She chuckled. I shook her hand with a fake grin on my face,
Then she took my card that had all of my room numbers on it. "Room 203, eh'? Well your in luck cause thats
my homeroom as well." She said joyfuly. I responded back with a small grin, and we made
our way to class.
My teacher, Mrs.Laxter, only made my day woorse. She made me come up to the front of the room and
introduce myself to the whole class. When she let me sit back down, I could tell that
everyone was talking about me. They would whisper something to the person next to them,
laugh, then glare at me. I was so pissed. I felt like hurting the little pathetic beasts.
I glanced across the room to find Susan starring at me. I looked at her, but Her face
looked as if it were frozen in that position. She was starring at me like she saw me kill
someone or something like that. I called her name, then she blinked, looked away, glanced back at
me once more, then looked back at her paper, looking scared and worried at the same time. She
constantly kept looking twards me, I tryed to see what she was looking at. I followed where her eyeswere going, and it was
my partner. I havn't even noticed her sitting next to me. She just sat there, starring
at the front wall the whole period. When the bell rang, She pratically ran out thr door,
making me drop all of my things. No one helped me pick them up, they only kicked me on
there way out.

Christians - Jews- and Muslims contend God is a person. After all he has a name, he has a will, a plan, christians even celebrate his birthday. I believe the correct term is Anthrophoism applying human characteristics to God. This is ridiculos to say the least, he might as well be your next door neighboor. Which brings me back to my question, when Christians say I believe in God and Athesist say I dont are they actually arguing the existence of a being? Or their idea of the existence of a supernatural being? I believe in the ALL just in case your where wondering.

This is for one of my classes, which is called “American Culture”. My homework consists in asking American people to answer the following questions in order to know a little more about the early years of the U.S. and its first inhabitants. The questions are:
1. What nationalities were your ancestors?
2. When did your ancestors immigrate to America?
3. Does anyone in your family still speak the language of the old (original) country?
4. Does your family maintain contact with any relatives in the old country?
5. What family customs or traditions from the old country do you observe

Painting was given to my grandfather by a man in Germany when he was stationed there during World War 2. I cannot find much info about it on the internet. I can however find plenty of info about "The Cardsharps". The paintings are very similar, but in my grandmothers painting, the two young boys are sitting at a table playing cards, and a man is standing in the background with a cape covering his face? There is something written in German on the back of the painting (don't have it in front of me, so I can't elaborate on that right now). Any info would be appreciated.

I get the Borders Rewards Newsletters, and I swear one of them featured a book about faeries. It was reviewed as "a stunning debut novel," or something similar, and I didn't write down the name of the book or the author. I remember that the author was female, it was a debut novel, "faeries" (or fairies) were mentioned, and it was for adults, NOT children (you might be amazed how many children's books there are about fairies).

If anyone can think of anything that sounds familiar, or even vaguely similar to the description above, I would greatly, greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!

The list is George Orwell 1984 (which I don't mind)
J.D Salinger Catcher in the Rye (*vomits)
Shakespeares Macbeth (*vomits blood) *note: I actually did vomit blood after reading his "A Comedy of Errors)
AND THE WORST OF ALL
JOHN STEINBECK EAST OF EDEN
OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD
I HATE HIM AND THE SWILL HE WRITES
maybe its just me

So what do I do? I really enjoy reading good books, but for me, books are like movies...I refuse to stomach a bad one.

So I was planning to just do my book reports on 4 books I like....do you think I'll get away with it if I use the same questions they asked? Tolstoy, Thackeray, Dostoyevsky, Balzac? Do you think I'll get in trouble?

Where is a good place to get started? I have no idea where to start. I already asked my father for as many names and birth places as he can remember of his family. I don't mind paying a site, but I want it to be worth the money. I've also heard the Mormons are really good at this stuff. Should I contact them?
