Naming characters isn't that easy. Names should mean something. Here are a few examples from a story I'm writing:
Alastrina (Allie): Main character. Her name means Avenger, which, in the story, she is.
Zoran: the father in law. He's a vampire, but his name means sun rise.
Rune Ubel: the bad guy. His name translates into Evil Secret/Secret of Evil.
Nearly all the characters in my novels are named for either a characteristic or quirk of their nature. The names of the characters should both reflect the story and the author's choice. Having miscellaneous people just give you names won't really help.

and type in the meaning of the character's name you want. That way the name reflects the character. Let's say you wanted a name meaning "divine" Deva, Diana, and Diviana all mean divine!

There is a young high school girl in some television program, I can't remember the name of the program, but her name is "Langston". I found that to be very different and intriguing.
