Hermione Granger: McGonagall is the Headmistress now since she was the Deputy Headmistress while Dumbledore was Headmaster. it states this through out the series. Also, Lupin has become a "throw away character" and many think he will be one of the first to go. it is thought that Snape is going to play a huge part in the destruction of Voldemort. it is known that he owes a life debt to James and since James is dead, he feels he needs to fulfill this life debt by trying to help Harry which is why he has done so (albeit rarely) through out the series.

i think Hogwarts will be reopened because it is the safest place for the children. It has so many ancient enchantments, spells and charms that it is logical to assume that Hogwarts will be opened to those seeking refuge against the Dark Lord even if it is just the students that attend there. plus the need to keep up with their studies to be able to at least attempt to protect themselves.

I absolutely believe that Hogwarts will reopen. Just because Harry doesn't go back doesn't mean that Hogwarts won't be open. With McGonagall as Headmistress, I'm sure that Hogwarts will be open even if they only have a couple students. (Plus, the library is where Hermione always goes when she needs information. She might find it hard to give up that source of knowledge even if the trio isn't officially attending Hogwarts.)

I don't know...

There's no headmaster now, right?

Who will be head master?

You can't have a school without a leader. And if they bring Umbridge back...oh god. ;) Not that again.

I have a feeling Harry MIGHT change his mind. Infact where doe Voldemort seem to attack most? Hogwarts.

Finding Voldemort and the horcruxes will be difficult, not to mention VERY dangerous.

I'm sure Harry will go with the Weasleys, Lupin, Tonks and all those guys just like before.

Lupin is suppose to play a MAJOR part I heard. Wonder what he'll do. Probably he'll be the one person helping Harry the most. Remember how in Order of the phoenix no body would tell Harry anything except Sirius...well I think Remus is going to start playing the Sirius figure. Who knows, maybe Lupin will talk Harry to go back to hogwarts(if it opens) for atleast a little while.

I don't know. ;)

We'll find out July 21st though! I can't wait!

Howgarts should remain open. At the end of the book (HBP) All the professors were debating whether or not to reopen Hogwarts. From what I've read I've concluded that they will open it as long as there is someone there to learn. Hagrid is still going to live on Hogwarts grounds ( he said that in HBP pp. 628). Plus JKR might keep it open because within the Headmaster's (or now Headmistress) Office it has pictures of all the previous headmasters (including Dumbledore). Harry might go there for advice from Dumbledore and the other headmasters.

of coarse it has to. hogwarts has been a staple of all the books. JK just cant take them out like that because ron and hermione are gonna be w/ harry and thats the place they are gonna be at.

But on the other hand harry cant go looking for horcruxes sitting in hogwarts.

i'm particularly purely going to wait for the e book to verify what occurs. yet i will handle a number of your theories with a number of my very own. Snape will maximum probable die. the possibilities are incredibly good that Draco will the two die or redeem himself. i'm hoping that Neville and Hagrid don't get killed, yet i've got have been given an fairly undesirable feeling approximately this.... i do no longer think of that Harry is a horcrux, yet i think of that some thing has to take place to Harry till now Voldemort could be killed. Regulus Black is probable R.A.B, and he probable concealed the the Hufflepuff cup (disguised using fact the cup stolen from Sirius' dwelling house?), yet that would not propose that R.A.B continues to be alive now - he might have taken the cup till now he substitute into killed. Dumbledore is lifeless. Sirius is lifeless.

I don't think it will reopen. He might have to go back there on business, but, by closing Hogwarts, it shows us that Harry has to accept the prophecy. He doesn't have anywhere else to go.

Well, since dumbledore isn't dead, I think Hogwarts will inevitably reopen at some point.

Yeah, I still think he is alive. Come on. The killing curse never raised anyone into the air and then freeze in midair before releasing them.
