What exactly do they mean when they use the term "baggage?" They mention this quite frequently throughout the songs and I can't figure out if it's referencing pent up emotions or hidden motives or AIDS or maybe even all three of those. Anyone know?

I am a Fine Arts major and would like to get a Curator internship at a museum in New York or Chicago. If anyone has any inkling of what it would require to do so or if you work for a museum, could you give me some advice? I know it's a broad question, so here: I'm currently a senior, and my BFA will be an emphasis on Photography and Furniture Design, however, I am planning on going to grad school to get a Master's in Art Theory and Criticism. I have no museum experience thus far, but I have a portfolio and resume. What would you do? Thank you! Oh, and my school isn't much help unless you are in the Architecture Dep't; the Fine Arts people are considered Arch "dropouts," so to speak. Bummer, I know, because it's a good program...

I found imagekind, a one stop shopping center for photos via flickr, i.e., you pick the size, paper type, and framing. They do the rest. Seems a bit pricey but they offer a venue to sell your 'art prints.' Has anyone had experience with them, and about the selling part, any chance of even coming out even? I doubt whether you could make much money with them.

I am reading The Client by John Grisham and I am wondering when it will get good. I am on page 100, and I'm not really motivated to read it. Is it going to get good? Did any of you like it?

We to this day don't know why NORAD [the North American Aerospace Command] told us what they told us," said Thomas H. Kean, the former New Jersey Republican governor who led the commission. "It was just so far from the truth. . . . It's one of those loose ends that never got tied."
For more than two years after the attacks, officials with NORAD and the FAA provided inaccurate information about the response to the hijackings in testimony and media appearances. Authorities suggested that U.S. air defenses had reacted quickly, that jets had been scrambled in response to the last two hijackings and that fighters were prepared to shoot down United Airlines Flight 93 if it threatened Washington.

In fact, the commission reported a year later, audiotapes from NORAD's Northeast headquarters and other evidence showed clearly that the military never had any of the hijacked airliners in its sights and at one point chased a phantom aircraft - American Airlines Flight 11 -

Would you welcome me with luaus and drinks or chains and arms?
Would you judge me for what I wear?
Would you hate me for what others before me had done, even if I have no relation whatsoever to them except for the fact that I am a Muslim, and a peaceful one?
Would you avoid being with me even if I say that I hate violence just as much as you do?
Would you give me a chance to prove that I really mean it when I say that I come in peace?
Would you believe me when I say that I really am sorry, and feel your pain for those you have lost in this senseless war?
Would you…?

He reads almost constantly, often having at least one book open in each room at the same time. He's read many New York Times' Best Sellers and Classics. He's looking for some new titles... can you recommend anything for him?

What are 10 of your favorite somewhat not-wellknown (necessarily) books that you would recommend?

Thanks so much (I might use these as Fathers' Day gifts, too!)

p.s. for some reason my dad doesn't care for Salman Rushdie, so avoid that i suppose. but, the recommendations don't have to be too obscure or anything. just really good books that somebody might not think of necessarily.

Artists themselvs generally had patrons and so didn't have to worry about money. But people like me who are intense lovers of art but not artists themselves have a problem.

The modern world favors the fast-paced, the cold, hard, and practical . Heartless administrative red tape and material ambitions.

I escape to the realm of art (primarily jazz and classical music, but also poems and short stories of the Romantic and Victorian era) and feel wonderfully alive, but when the music fades, it's back to the aforementioned unlivable reality.

If you don't want it spoiled for you do not go to the site but ytmnd seems to have gotten a leaked image of a page of the book allegedly. Is this just a fanfic or could it be the real thing? (Note: big spoiler if you go there, so don't if you want to read the book and find out for yourself. Seriously)
