We have quite a few Muslims that go to college in the area. I'm not sure where you get the luau idea, but we would welcome you in the spirit in which you presented yourself. I would accept you for who you are, same as on this board. If you show up at the door, we will set a plate for you, and if you can't eat what we are eating, we will be glad to find something palatable. I understand your trepidation. I have traveled abroad and I have kept up with current events, but no one is as good or as bad as the television makes them out to be.

Please don`t listen to the idiotic former answer before. Namely the ones that stated 911 and Republicans. American welcomes Muslims because many Muslims are Americans. The majority of Muslims that live in America are better educated than the average American. They are are the top of the socio-economic class. This is in contrast to Britain where the majority of Muslims face discrimination b/c there are the bottom of the socio economic class.
Anybody that judges Muslims b/c of what happened on 911 are idiots and please believe the minority. The majority of Americans welcome everybody with open arms because many different races, religions, ethnicity's are American.

There are several million Muslims who live here now and they seem to get by just fine. I don't see that you would have a problem even if you wear a scarf. I see plenty of women in stores and parks, etc., wearing their hijab and/or the rest of the garments so, if you wear these things, you should fit right in.

We would welcome you but bare in mind that the world is in a lot of turmoil and you will be questioned. With the situation at hand and after 9/11 we have to be on guard for our own safety just as in your country. The United States welcomes all peace loving individuals

I do not believe you need to be afraid.
My roommate is Muslim,
My best friend is Hindu,
My parents are Christian,
Some of my colleagues are Buddhist,
I find Ben Stiller hilarious (Jew),
and I am a totally confused Universalist.
We all live happily together enjoying a great harmony.

well Im in Canada and personally Im open minded and give everyone a clean slate for them to write themselves. As far as Im concerned americans are hyprocritical (so's the rest of the world) because they got their country by raping and killing my ancestors (Im native american). I wish we could all get along the international budget spent on police, military, weapons ect could pay for us to solve world problems instead of making current ones worse and adding more. I think youll be ok visiting the US just choose the state you visit wisely some are VERY IGNORANT and other not so much

I trust people when their words are aligned with their actions.
Thus far, I have read your words. I would need to witness your actions before making the determination.
I would believe you until you give me reason not to. However, once you have broken that trust, you will need to work twice as hard to regain it.
That is true whether you are Muslim or of any other faith.

I have yet to actually meet a peaceful Muslim. Besides, in your country you just voted to make it illegal for Christians to use the word allah. That intolerance tells me a lot about your culture.
