I'd recommend Dan Brown.
His stories are awesome conspiracy-theoryish. Sort of like a better-researched Clive Cussler.
Angels and Demons was my favorite!

Well, given how much he reads, the obvious suggestions are probably not worth much - any clue to genre of preference?
Here are a couple of tosses in the dark -
J. Lee Butts writes tight modern westerns
He has been writing a series of same main character novels
Start with "Lawdog". I have read "Brotherhood of Blood" and I have "Ambushed" in the to read stack.
A first time author he probably hasn't read is Jon Armstrong "Grey" which is a near future distopic vision of super celbs and corporate feudalism.
If he likes war fiction and the recent movies by Clint Eastwood try to find a copy of "Tenozan" by George Feifer which is the story of the Japanese on Okinawa during the invasion - powerful story.
Or more strictly military try "Zero" by Masatake Okumiya which I think has recently come out in reprint.
And on the other side of the world, try "The Forgotten Soilder" by Guy Sajer.
Good luck.

Island of Saints: A Story of the One Principle That Frees the Human Spirit by Andy Andrews. This is a great book that a man would enjoy. It would make a great Father's Day present. It is very interesting, and even though it is true, it is just as exciting as fiction. I think you will really be pleased with this one. Also, any John Grisham books would be good. Maybe some Ted Dekker. Sorry I couldn't be too specific and give you ten but that first one is really good.

There are sooo many great ooks. But what you could do is go to amazon.com and find the books your father says he likes in the past. Each site for a book has a place to checkmark the book for a rating. click 5 stars for about five of your fathers favorites. This will automatically generate a 'Your amazon' feature where it will list books that a person may like if they liked the five you clicked. At least one of the one's amazon picks should be a winner.

If you like reading non-fiction, about what goes on nowadays - I recommend these two -
1) "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader"
written by Bradley K. Martin
2) "Rogue Regime"
written by Jasper Becker
These two well-written books give an insight about the North Korean Government.
Fiction?
Try all the books written by Clive Cussler.
The hero is Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino. These are well-written.

Lips is a novel in which your Dad could most likely relate with the main character. This is a fun book to read. The way it is written makes the reader feel as if he is there witnessing all the action. Lips is available in bookstores and at online bookstores. I bet your Dad would have fun with this story.
