Space and time define our universe as we can understand it. And all that happened from the first moment that this universe began till now that I'm writing these lines are related to each other. Every single event concludes to this very moment. But what about our thoughts? Does a thought effect the progress of things and events? Is a thought connected to a death of a star 2 millions yaers ago? Or will a thought of your own make a rainforest disappear after 200 years? How can we be sure that our thoughts really matter in the continiouity of the universe?

Ode to my Cat (in memory)
give me your throat, your tender white flesh that I may learn to love and to feel love, or gentle tooth and claw.
Perhaps the lady Dove would disagree, or gracefully suggest
those claws and teeth were meant for death, for striking, secret, silent, from above, just for the simple electric thrill of
ripping and tearing that gentle white flesh. Perhaps love is a fickle beast with claws, but better to open the heart to wound, forgive the daily faults and flaws, give your trust as trust is do, and soon and sure and hand in hand you'll pause... to gaze at the gentle white moon. How can one ever become entirely objective? If we are brutally honest, we have to admit the unpleasant truth about ourselves, in that we all have prejudices. We all have proclivities. We all choose favorites. How then may we be truly objective?

What if objectivity is illusory? After all, how can we know it is real? We can only imagine what things appear like through different eyes, but we can never actually experience that detachment.

What is your opinion?

I prefer short story collections to novels. I love Alice Munro & Raymond Carver & Sherman Alexie & Edmund P. Jones & Tobias Wolff...

Anyone have any favorite short story writers they want to suggest?

She's not out there, the girl who'll kick off those flashy, uncomfortable shoes and sneak off into the woods. You only wear a wedding dress once, who says you can't get mud on it? Leave behind the borish, chattering families with their expensive wine and their fine cuisine, leave them, and follow the stream and let them talk, and tread lightly on rocks, velvet green, and red, and soft against the feet, and speak of life and how lovely it is to live on such a day as this, the dawning spring beneath the trees, or maybe in the painted fall, but I'm quite sure that all the deer will bend their heads to drink cool waters as we pass and birds will sing a happy song, as for photographer and friends and all the rest, let them wait, let them wonder... where could they have gone? The sun descends into the reddening sky and I brush the leaves from her hair as we wander back down to the party. Matthew P. Schlette

Which of the following best describes the effect the Revolution had on women's status?

A. The exclusive focus of the Revolution on male citizenship hurt early campaigns for women's rights; the Revolution was a step backward for women.
B. Working-class women gained from the Revolution, while upper-class women were scorned as elitist.
C. The Revolution's ideals made it easy for women to demand and achieve new rights.
D. The Revolution didn't significantly affect the status of American women, although both the experience of war and republican ideology offered women some new opportunities to take part in public affairs.
E. Women in the South gained more legal rights as a result of the Revolution; the rights of women in New England were restricted.

I can't find it listed on any of the rare books sites or any of the used books sites. It's too old to have a ISBN #.

This book may be worth more because it has an error, the face page and previous page are sealed together at the top. They were never cut properly.
