I love 9 stories by Salinger as well.
But I think my favorite short story is "The Scarlet Ibis" by James Hurst.
It's a beautiful story, very poignant and really vivid. You'll never forget it. Love the Necklace too--very ironic.
If you love irony, try O'Henry stories.
Gosh, I love questions about reading...such a great change from the Anna Nicole and Brittany questions!

and O. Henry (real name: William Sydney Porter) is a classic short story author.
