Li'l the bat in my daughter's book "The frog Princess" by E.D Baker. She provided such an ironic character to an already hilarious story, and I can imagine her having the voice of Karen Walker from Will and Grace. :-)
grinistari6 : Lestat? surely you jest, Armond was much more deep.

One of my most fascinating and intriguing characters and yet he was so naive and simple character that I have read was Chance Gardener in the book "Being There." He would imitate whatever he saw in television and revolve it into his daily life. The reason why I chose him is that a lot of people are shaped by what they see on TV for their cultural mores. But if you look at Jerry Kosinski's novel you can see how complex that Chance could be despite of his simplicity and naivety. One of my favorite scenes in the book is when Chance's lady friend played by Shirley MacLaine in the film version tries to seduce Chance into having sex with her.But since he only knows things because of TV he can only relate so far and the completion of the lovemaking scene cannot happen because he never saw it on TV in his experience. What I think that Kosinski is trying to say is that we are letting ourselves be controlled by the media and technology around us and if we keep going in this direction we become enslaved in ignorance and the machines may take over because of massive influence of simple minded individuals who lack direction and purpose and unable to think for themselves. In other words, technology can be a deliverer or an enslaver depending on how you live with it or adapt to changes when they come.

My favorite fantasy author is named Raymond E. Feist and one of his characters is a hoot. His name is James. He goes from being a thief to one of the Prince's most trusted advisors. He has quite a sense of humor, too.
