I am writing a paper and I have to argue whether progressives were reformers who wanted to expand democracy or conservatives who sought to impose order. I know they wanted to spread democracy by having woman's suffrage and a secret ballot, but I do not know how they wanted to impose order. Any help??

I'm an artist, or was at least. For over a year now I've been suffering from a severe case of artist block.

I think its because, I'm too critical of myself, and think I have to draw perfectly every time no doodles. I have to be perfect. Help me I want art to be fun again :(

I tried heavy weights on small stacks but didn't work and I have a 65 year accumulation (some in albums are ok) but others in boxes need tender loving restoration. Can you help me. I know this is not about taking photographs but of restoring them to their original flat condition which I intend won't happen again.
Thanks so much for your help-I am desperate.

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true...I was made for you

I climbed across the mountain tops
Swam all across the ocean blue
I crossed all the lines and I broke all the rules
But baby I broke them all for you
Because even when I was flat broke
You made me feel like a million bucks
Yeah you do and I was made for you

You see the smile that's on my mouth
Is hiding the words that don't come out
And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
No, they don't know who I really am
And they don't know what I've been through but you do
And I was made for you...

Okay, after a serious and intense process of contemplation I've come to a few conclusions:

a) If we live in a world of free will, there is no God. Free will + actions = accountability for these actions. Therefore if God DID commit the act of creating us, he'd be responsible for us and, respectively, our actions; uplifting all accountability we would otherwise have for said actions. This is a complete objection and contradiction any purpose/meaning we uphold for ourselves, creating a world of nihilism. Thus, God can't exist in such a world.

b) A world of fate requires a God to sustain its structure. A deterministic perception of reality would call for all causes and their respected effects to be apart of a long, on-going chain of such causes and effects, leading all the way back to one initial cause: God.

So I ask you, which paradigm do you adhere to: a or b?

I have a family tree that shows one of my Scottish ancestors with the title 'Captain of the Scots', but I can't find any information onto what this might mean. Any ideas?

I was just bored. When I get bored I wonder about stuff...
So what is your opinion, philosophy or thought about when and how the world will die? You can be funny, sarcastic, serious, religious, scientific, creative, nonoriginal or just plain stupid if you want, doesn't matter...just give me something to read.
When and how will the world end? Or the universe? Or just humans wiped out?

STRANGER OR ANGEL?

A girl held out her hand to me and I just turned away
I just wasn’t in the mood to make new friends today.
Besides, she didn’t look the type that I would hang around
So when she tried to talk to me,,,,I just turned her down.

She said, “Well, , when you’re ready, I’ll try again someday”
And then she smiled a little smile,, and turned and walked away
And I could see tears in her eyes, but didn’t really care
Not thinking that I might have hurt my “Angel Unaware”

Because you see, you don’t “pick” friends,,,,,God sends them here to you
To be there when you’re down and out and help to see you through
But even more important, He also chooses you
To be there for somebody else,,,, to be their angel too

So, if you turn them down, it might be God you turn away
And maybe miss the chance to change somebody’s life today
Be mindful of all strangers, and let them know you care
For doing so, they might just be your “Angel, Unaware”
