I write non-fiction, and I'm readying myself to freelance: I'll write annual reports, brochures, press releases, etc. for companies, and articles for magazines. But, I want lively prose.

Should I read great wordsmiths like F. Scott Fitzgerald, columnists like William F. Buckley Jr., should I simply write ... or do I do them all?

Do we need language to think? How do animals, birds and insects think? They don't have well developed language like ours.

Also if you are multi-lingual, do you think in one language over the other?

Is thinking same as speaking to yourself while brainstorming? I don't know whether I use language to think or not. What are your thoughts?

The Freelance Work Exchange promises a steady diet of well-paying writing gigs ... does it deliver? Or, after you've paid for your subscription, do you merely get information you could've found on your own?

I think that a lot of people do not have any patience to listen to and ponder over another person's point of view, which is the greatest hurdle in our learning process.

It was featured in Friday's Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph, so I assume it is by a Northamptonshire artist. It pictures an old man sitting next to the empty chair where his wife once sat.

I'm confused. I hear environmentalists whine about the "unnatural" things that man is doing to the earth.

Huh?

Seems to me man, (both male & female, mankind), is Part of nature. By definition, whatever man does is "natural", being part of nature.

Thoughts?

try this, close your eyes and imagine ur in a room. try to get a mental picture of the room, where you can see all four walls at the same time, lik you have four eyes at 90 degrees to each other arnd ur head....combine the visions to give urself an image tht is comprised of all 4 walls....its impossible to do it becoz our brain perceives only a 2d image of wht we see with 2 eyes, therefore our imagination is reduced to seeing and creating objects tht r restricted to wht we can see...this is wht i prefer to call perceptional fallacy...ne buyers for the theory?
