The movie was a joke and I am sad to say I saw it. I got my degree in history and this movie about made me sick with how incorrect everything was in it. I mean they could have FREAKING tried on somethings. Greek women didn't flaunt their **** around like the queen did, they didn't share the same bed as their husband...oh and the best is when they say something about how they can't attack now because it is AUGUST.....AUGUST!!!!! AUGUST as in the month named after the emperor or Rome Augusta who wasn't around yet.

They didn't show anything correct about Ancient Greece or Persia. It was based off a comic book. Hollywood knew that this movie would sell for the pure fact that Frank Miller's Sin City did great when it was made into a movie. They also knew that if they put enough boobs in the movie that men won't care about the story line. The visuals were done like a video game and it was all about blood, boobs, war, sex, and all the stuff that men want to see. Watch it for its story line is guess all I can say.

Dude, it's a movie. Get real. Have you even seen this movie? Nowhere did I see any portrayal of Persians "living like animals." They were an invading horde against a small number of Greeks, which is exactly what the movie shows.

I would assume you are an Iranian who has merely read other people's opinions about the film (more hateful spew by mullahs), but haven't seen it yourself.

It's a fictionalized account of historical events, taken from a comic book.

Again, it's a movie. In real life, there are no insane giants with pointy teeth, The Immortals were not monstrous creatures with gnarly faces, and Xerxes was most likely not over 7 feet tall, so why do you assume that the portrayal of the Persian army is dead on?

it is nothing against the Persians...

it's a movie about honour...

you will realize, even in the movie... "it's the thousand nations of the Persian empire"

because the Persian empire grew by conquering...

yes, I know... everyone is afraid of offending... but they all need to look back historically and say... yes, this was the most honourable battle ever....

i understand sufficient that the action picture became often fake, although based loosely on a real occurance. i think of it is going to no longer be taken heavily because of the fact it does not even take itself heavily - there are fictional monsters, blah..... i did no longer take excitement in the action picture, i did no longer take excitement in the portrayal of the Iranians, however the Spartans known like barbaric, conflict-hungry, anti-psychological (of their comments approximately Athenians) human beings as nicely. i does not take it too heavily. uninteresting, uninteresting, no longer innovative and totally a wanna be gladiator / troy / braveheart / patriot / etc. blah.

it's fiction

it does not even claim to be historically accurate.

have you read the original graphic novel?

anyone who takes this movie for fact was mentally deficient to start with and would believe anything.
