Love is a profound feeling of tender affection for or intense attraction to another. People in love are often considered to have "good" interpersonal chemistry. Love is described as a deep, ineffable feeling shared in passionate or intimate interpersonal relationships. In different contexts, however, the word love has a variety of related but distinct meanings: in addition to romantic love, which is characterized by a mix of emotional and sexual desire, other forms include platonic love, religious love, familial love, and the more casual application of the term to anyone or anything that one considers strongly pleasurable, enjoyable, or desirable, including activities and foods. This diverse range of meanings in a single word is commonly contrasted with the plurality of Greek words for Love, reflecting the word's versatility and complexity.

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.
After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.
Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.
I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.
I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.
If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.
I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.
Love and blessings
Your brother

No True Meaning... Stop Asking Questions With No Meaning. Love Comes From Every Individual. We All View Love Differently. Its What Your Heart Tells You, but ill tell you one thing for sure... you will never feel love... until your deeply hurt by it. I Mean Deeply Hurt. Where you cry so much that you cant breath anymore, when your body cramps, your arms start shaking and i wont go any further. So yeah... trust me kiddo... you wont know what love really is unless your hurt by it.

we all have to ask that question because we all have a different definition of it.when i met my hubby now of three years i knew in two weeks that i loved him,we would talk on the phone and i would get butterflys,he would send flowers to my work id get all shy and red in the face,he would kiss me and my belly would get this crazy feeling that it had never had before,he would make me laugh over the stupidest jokes, now weve been together for four years and i still feel all those same things from him its wonderful so i guess we all have a different definition of the meaning of love good luck and hope u find it soon.

I am amazed by your question...
People have searched for the answer to this question since history as we know it today, started.
I will give you my person answer to it...
Love is always personal, hence forth what YOU define it to be. For me love is giving all you can of yourself, because you want and can, give. Love for me is reflecting myself in my lover...recognising my faults and asserts...working on myself to be better...

It's an emotion. There is no 'meaning' to it, it just is.
