Pls. See the excerpts of a conversation between Sai Baba and a Devottee of Him.
"Devotee: Swami, what is the best way to relate to the world?
Sai Baba: Do not think about the world. Do not spend time thinking about the world or about your relationships to individuals. These are all impermanent. They will not last. Pay attention to that which lasts, to that which is permanent. All things involving the world and human relationships have to do only with the body. The body is like a water bubble. The mind is like a mad monkey. So do not follow the body or the mind. Follow the voice of God. It is the voice of unchanging truth inside you. It will direct you toward your highest good.
If doubts come, do not follow them. Jesus had some doubts on the cross when the soldiers were tormenting him. Then he heard the voice of God telling him, “All are one, my dear son. Be alike to everyone.” At that point the last doubt dropped away and Jesus declared “I and my Father are one.” He realised the truth of the oneness of Self and God. This is the state of Advaita, of complete Non-Dualism, where there is only unity. If you listen to the voice of God inside you, it will tell you that there is no difference between you and God. There never was a difference. It was your imagination only. The sense of difference was only in your mind. There is no separate I or God which has to become one. There never was any other. Always there was just the one, without a second. To reach this highest truth, do not think that you and God are separate. Think always “God is with me. He is inside me. He is around me. He is above me. All there is, is God. I, myself, am God. I am the infinite. I am the eternal. I am not two. I am one, only one. There is no one else besides me. I and God are one and the same.” That is called self-confidence; it is the confidence that you are atma, the one Self. You develop self-confidence by thinking all the time “God is doing everything, without God I cannot be.” When you realise that God is not outside of you and separate from you, then you gain self-confidence. Then there is love, there is peace, there is truth, there is God. So first there must be self-confidence and love of God. What are you thinking about now? You are thinking about the body, but the body is just a water bubble. The body is just a dress, only a dress."

With love. A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.
After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.
Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.
I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.
I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.
If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.
I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.
Love and blessings
Your brother

The best way to relate to the world is to have a sense of belonging.... that we are part of this world that makes us not only to claim many rightful dues from it but also to render us responsible for it in a number of ways. It is our desire to escape our responsibilities that we are unable to relate to the world assuming as though we are no part of it.

Learn how to engage in abundant conversation, with even strangers.
I've found that humans subconsciously prejudge an individual until they hear them speak.
The "gift of gab" in this world is literally a gift.
There's such a thing as talking too much, but a lack of speech, in this world, is of far greater consequence.

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach, the old adage states.
My wife likes her food as much as I, so let's expand the proverb to:
"The way to create friends in the world is by feeding them good food! "
If I missed what you meant by relate - sorry!

Don't take life too seriously. Life throws a lot challenges your way, these are what make you a stronger person. Life is for living, and the world is your oyster.

Become part of it.....do the same things as others, participate, these things may be good or bad....but soon you will relate and then choose the best path for your life. I did. And it was a good path. :)
