I am trying to find a children's book that I read in the '90s. It was sort of a frog princess story mixed with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. From what I remember, a princess was banished to a pond (by her jealous sisters?) where she was taken by the creature that lives in the pond. They had a child who formed in a flower. A lonely viking woman found her and raised her as her own. The girl was beautiful by day with a horrible temperament, but by night resembled the monster (I remember the illustration of her looking like a frog) and had a meek disposition. In the end she helped a prisoner escape (at night in her creature form). They rode into the forrest on a horse. I remember her digging, but that is all I can remember.

Please help!

I know that the town is similar because the towns were very slow and dull until a major event caused fear in itself. What else are similar about the two books?

I am writing a paper about how coffee has become a status symbol. both coffee companies starbucks and tim hortons in sell the same product, but creates and caters to complete different lifestyles. starbucks is high culture, and tim hortons is low culture.
my prof suggested to look beyond the class and focus on education and age. I don't exactly see the connection. I would greatly appreciate suggestions if you see the connection.

THanks!

Do book editors get annoyed with queries that go so far as to include a small photo on the same page as the query letter, or does it actually help them remember your query by giving them a face to connect with your name? [Please note, I prefer answers to be worded respectfully.]

I just read it for my English class and must say that I was not too impressed. I guess it didn't appeal to my tastes and whatnot.

Anyway, if you've read it or even seen the movie, what did you think of it?
