I'll be auditioning for a male role in Midsummer Night's Dream soon and I have to prepare a comedic Shakespeare monologue.

I've done a fair amount of theater work, but I came from a small community where just about any male was welcome and auditions were very laid-back. Now I've moved to a larger community and there will, no doubt be significant competition.

My question is whether it's a good idea to work an accent into an audition for shakespeare. I've done accent work before (Brooklyn accent for "The Guys"), but never a British accent. My in-laws are British and I think I can pull it off with some work and help, but I don't want to use it in an audition if it would be distracting.

Thanks for any help.

How often do we actually possess all necessary information before making a choice? Or how many times are we right in thinking that we possess true and not false information, before making a specific choice?

(ok, if you do not want "random choice", take "biologically/subconsciously caused choice" instead)

Consider the following quote by nineteenth century historian Francis Parkman: "Spanish civilization crushed the Indian. English civilization scorned and neglected him. French civilization embraced and cherished him." Is Parkmans statement a fair assessment of European experiences in the Contact Period? What degree, if any, is Parkmans thought a legitimate interpretation of the European Amerindian cultural exchange?

I never see myself as me. A part of me is always extremely careful, very critical of what I say and do. Whenever I talk to someone or meet new people, that part of me is looking at me from across the room. It doesn't allow me to live my life. It defines everything and labels things right and wrong. I never feel like I am actually myself. I feel like I am a reflection of others. My own mind prevents me from being happy. The pessimistic part and the irrational part sometimes takes over. There is always a constant battle. I'm 19 and I don't want to fail college. I'm not getting anything done. My mind doesn't stop.

Hey ya'll. I'm writing a story 5-10 pages for a Creative Writing class and i'm burnt out on stories. The story is about a small, secluded mountain town that was build by a rich eccentric man. I want the town to have a secret, scary or not, but something. I have written that the 'maker' of the town wanted to hand pick who came in and wanted to make sure no one left. I can NOT think of an ending....PLEASE HELP!
