Alone by Edgar Allan Poe.

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then - in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life - was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

Near to Vantage, Washington is a work of art by sculptor David Govedare. The piece is a herd of horses/ponies galloping along a ridge. The design is to commemorate the gift of horses/ponies from the Great Spirit to the people.
Through the kindness of a horsewoman in the area I was able to narrow it's location down to Vantage, but, I'm trying to find it on Google Earth w/no success.
If anyone knows map coordinates or close mileage it would really be appreciated. Check out the pictures at http://www.murrayco.com/ponies/ponies.html
I know the sculpture was there in 2001, probably earlier.

Thanks for any help.
Susan

I have taken ballet classes from the age of 6 till 11,that is,moro or less 5 years.I was discouraged by my teacher because I was not fat,but chubby, and she thought that it was not suitable for a ballet dancer. Now I'm 16 and I'm thinking i would soooo much like to start over again! When I stopped I realised I really missed it....Plus,now I'm slimmer and I will have no one breathe down my neck about how much I weigh!I am thinking to start practically from scratch,in 2 years, when I finish school. Is it a ridiculously old age??Will I be able to flex my legs or will I be too old to do such openings at 18-19???I really want to do it though!!!

Can I make up a city for a novel? I know they do it in tv all time time (Neptune, CA in Veronica Mars is a made up city), but is this a common practice in books or do readers prefer the setting to be an actual place?

A mother asked President Bush,
"Why did my son have to die in Iraq?"

Another mother asked President Kennedy,
"Why did my son have to die in Viet Nam?"

Another mother asked President Truman,
"Why did my son have to die in Korea?

Another mother asked President F.D.
Roosevelt,
"Why did my son have to die at Iwo Jima?"

Another mother asked President W. Wilson,
"Why did my son have to die on the
battlefield
of
France?"

Yet another mother asked President Lincoln,
"Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg?"

And yet another mother asked President G.
Washington,
"Why did my son have to die near Valley
Forge?"

Then long, long ago, a mother asked...
"Heavenly Father, why did my Son have to die
on a cross outside of Jerusalem?"

The answer to all these is the same, "So that all may live in peace and freedom."

I am aware this is supposed to be inspirational, but I would like to know your thoughts.

Americans have always had a universal dream ranging from marriage to freedom and of course, money. Some Americans pursue them more carefully than others, while the others just sit and dream. Freedom is exactly what birthed this country, and so many Americans take it for granted. America is one of the richest countries, and still desires more. Even though people say that money won't buy happiness, it just drives us to want more, for more temporary happiness, more property, and more popularity.

My elementary school is planning a play "The Lion King" using music from the broadway play. We will not be charging any money for the play. Do we need to apply for rights or permission from Disney? If so, how or where would we do this at?
