My instructor assigns us to do this research paper and I chose a topic that let me work with an essay by Ken Lum (basically about political economy). I have to connect it somehow with the work of Mary Cassatt or Berthe Morisot, and I'm dead clueless. Will someone please give me some suggestions?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hello everyone! I love writing, so I decided to write a poem about something I enjoy; playing the guitar! Any comments and/or constructive critisism would be appreciated!

The Soul of Rock 'n Roll:

Setting me free
To a world of solitude
Bass vibrating
Intensity set at its maximum

Each strum is a new key
Of my soul
Unlocking the wild side
Of my solemn, conservative world

This staff holds the notes
Of my life
Feel the everlasting beat
Gliding between my fingers

This music streams from the amp
To captivate existence
Plucking the firm strings
That unleashes the soul of rock ‘n roll.

Thomas Hobbs put forth the idea that the source of ethics/morality was based upon self-preservation. I propose that the source of all ethics/morality is fear....and this holds true from day one to the present.....

An example from ancient times is that men formed communities first as a means of combating the fear of being taken by someone else.

An example from today could include peer-pressure at all levels or ages.

Please give your comments---thanks in advance

I picked most of them up at my local library, all except the first two. For those who have already read them-would it be easier to wait for the others or can I go ahead and read the ones I have?

I've always valued honesty, and I try to stick to the truth as much as I can, but as i get older, I find that I often get in trouble for telling the truth. Do you think lies are necessary, especially if you want to avoid confrontation, or conflict? And if lying to others also mean lying to yourself, how can you redeem yourself?

Sorry the tueth is that spartans would win, period. This is not a Q about 1000 mongols vs 300 spartans but equal numbers and it goes like this;
1) Spartans soldiers were the best of the best and would be considered today as the same as SPECIAL FORCES. Superior tactics and extreme disclipine + medium and heavy armor.
2) Mongols tactics were solely based on SMASH AND GRAB. Riding horses helped greatly against infantry but not seige warfare. However the mongols were not riding theroughbreds, yet small highland horses that were about the size of a current day "jackass" or "burrow" and were SLOW. Mongols wore cloth and leather armor simply because the horses they rode, couldnt care any more weight!
Bottom line: Spartans 1 Mongols 0
sure the mongols could ride around the spartans phalanx, but arrows couldnt pierce heavy armor or the phalanx, then what are the mongols to do when there out of ammo, riding on a horse that cant run faster than a dog.
