Not really miss... you can long for it, though.

If your imagination is strong enough you can. Just because you've never known the said thing doesn't mean you can't long for it. Be it an era of time, a missed love, or an experience never experienced, I think it can be missed without being known.

I dont think a person can miss what they have never known because they have never known it? You get used to something and that is when you miss it. That is my theory.

If a person knows what they are missing, then they might miss the concept of it, but not the actual thing. Like, orphans want parents, but they can't actually miss their own parents, because they didn't know them personally. You know what I mean?

Which "miss" are you talking about?

Example:
1) I can miss a series premier of a serial that I never knew about.
but
2) I can't really miss (as in long) something that i am not familiar with. otherwise the "longing" will loose its definition.

so
1) yes
2) no

No, not if "known" means awareness. A person must be aware of something (even a bygone era, heaven, or a story of riches) or they cannot possible conceive of it... which is necessary in order to desire it.

Obviously not. How would that be possible? You've looked too far into this problem.
