My instructor assigns us to do this research paper and I chose a topic that let me work with an essay by Ken Lum (basically about political economy). I have to connect it somehow with the work of Mary Cassatt or Berthe Morisot, and I'm dead clueless. Will someone please give me some suggestions?

Thank you very much in advance!

The National Gallery of Art (Washington) has many works by Cassatt and has them on-line. Maybe something will spark your creativity....

As I recall, Mary Cassatt specialized in paintings of mothers with children. That doesn't necessarily mean, however, that she didn't depict other subjects, though I doubt she did. Start with the library, checking books on paintings in general, then Mary Cassatt and Berthe Morisot in particular. From there, go to a search engine like Google or DogPile and research those painters. If they don't suit your topic, you may have to choose a different topic.
