I have been trying to discribe friendship in terms of what it is. The problem is that I keep hitting a wall, I can discribe what friendship (i.e. best friends, great mates, etc.) looks like (what it does) for example a friend is there for you when you are down but I can not for the life of me discribe what it is. I am talking about unselfish (true) friendship here.

A though hit me a little while ago that friendship is a form of love (the hebrews called it ahgarpah [AH-gar-pay] I believe) that we feel for a person after spending a bit of time with them. But this then leaves open the door for other questions like 'If friendship is a form of love then what it romantic love nothing more than a biological drive to reproduce dressed up by our society?' Questions that are hard to answer whitout a starting point.

So my question is what is friendship, not what it looks like but what is it? AND If frienship is a form of love what does that say about other forms of love?

Is colonization is a past, a present or a future?

Most European countries used to colonize all part of the world and they divided and concord the whole world piece by piece like a “PISSA” Now in 2007 these countries if they get another chance do you think they will do it again or they regret what they did on the colonized countries? Also if you become a King or a Queen do you think you could be tempted to colonize a country (deep in side of you) . Be open

I recently bought the novel 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. When I got home, I remembered that the novel is originally written in Spanish and I thought to myself that it would be better to read it in the original language (Coincidentally my mother received a copy in spanish so now I have two). Now I'm about to read it in Spanish and I will read it in English to see how much a difference exists between the two.

So many great novels have been translated into various languages. Do you believe that there is something lost in the translation of these novels besides it not being in the original words of the author? If the message is the same, is there any real difference? Have any of you experienced this with anything you have read?

I've been thinking this over since many of the books I purchased lately have been translated from another language. Although I can read Spanish, I can't read Turkish or Portuguese.

Any comments and thoughts would be appreciated.

Great wine is fine, but a whiskeys quicker
Suicide is slower when drinking liquor
Drown your drink demons with a full bottle
But your demons are there fighting full throttle

Knocking on the passing doors, awaking dead
Stumble in wondering where I’m prone
So I make my bed. And resting my head.
Nights just a blur so I lie there and moan

On the next morning I am feeling rough
I Guess the night before must have been tough
Feeling sick as I slumped off the sofa
Then a flash back, I hired a shofer

People drink their silly self too death why
