Why or why not?

Yes to a certain point. When you are ignorant to something, you don't know that it is there, therefore you are not being affected by it. Think racism or poverty...if you are poor, but don't realize that others live better than you, then you don't know to be sad. If you don't realize some one is treating you unfairly, then you are not hurt by it. It is once your eyes are opened that you are hurt by the affects of the ignorance. This can work against you though. If you are ignorant to eating healthy, then you could die at a young age because of poor diet. We might be ignorant by the things that our government does, but eventually these things will catch up with us and we will not be in bliss then.

Yes. Throughout my pregnancy I read books and websites and learned about the millions of things that could go wrong and worried about many of them. In the days when there was not as much known about pregnancy or the information wasn't as readily available, women got to a certain point in their pregnancies and stopped worrying and blissfully anticitipated the birth. These days, women know enough to worry. I'm not saying it is better not to know, but it is certainly more blissful. A prime example was when I was diagnosed with too much amniotic fluid. Twenty years ago before ultrasounds were a regular practice, such a thing would never have been known. The field of medicine was ignorant that such a thing existed or at least how to diagnose it. I spent the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy visiting a fetal medicine specialist and worrying about what it all meant. My baby was perfect despite that I was 42 at her birth. She is now 15 weeks old and at the top of the charts for development, physical, social, and cognitive (as far as all the information goes, which brings me to another point. These days moms worry because their babies haven't brought their hands to their mouths by 10 weeks or because they haven't started to turn toward their voices, etc. In most cases there is nothing to worry about. Ignorance would be bliss.)

It really depends what you are ignorant in, or about. If you are ignorant in education then it will effect your chances of employment. It is therefore not bliss in this category

Other wise when it comes to bad or tragic news that will have a traumatic effect on you at times then I would consider it bliss.

There were many times in my life that I found out something at a later date which did make me sad, however if I had known about it at an earlier time, such as when I was ill in the hospital for about 2 months my Aunt had passed away. If I was told about it at that time I would have been to emotionally, and physically able to handle the tragic news. I was told about it at a later date when I was able to cope with it.

So as you see it really depends what you are ignorant about, or what your ignorant in at different times of your life. On the whole if it is gossip or rumors then your better off not knowing. Rumors and gossip only hurt others, and if it is about you it may ruin your life. So there it is. Hope I answered your question, and it helped you. As I am sure there is a specific reason you asked.

you ignore because it is less important that other things you like to do. hear the inner voice and you will know what to do and what not to do even though its against what other people say. you must have the courage to do what your inner voice says. so ignore the ignorance.

Someone without much knowledge can be happy, but an ignorant person can't.
