Im pretty sure I got the basics of singing ie breathing n stuff. But I realised that I can't quite sustain a note long. I realised that my note is like at the right point then wen I try to hold it every now and then it goes down a note or smthing or sorta "breaks up" in the middle of a long note... what shld I do? What exercises are there for me to improve on this?

Birth gives way and light to death,
death means you were once alive
Alive with people that craved for material things
Alive with people that only looked out for themselves

But it's only in the last moments of your life
The final breaths you take, that you will
remember those people,
and rather be with them
than lying on your deathbed.

When you're living is when you see those people as
they are...
people who you know aren't even going to attend
your funeral,
in reality, people who never cared
Caring wasn't in their system.
Honesty wasn't in their heart.
And right now, you know, that you aren't in their mind.

Even though they are in your thoughts, and your memories,
to them, you are merely a fraction of their
self- absorbed lives.
People who you knew for a few moments
Those who cannot save you from going back to dust.

My german grandfather (wasnt a nazi fanatic) was serving in Africa when captured by British (I believe) troops. He was sent to a British run POW camp on Crete. He had pictures of it and I even have the turtle shell that they used as an ashtray. He said the Brits were nice to him and even let him have a dog.
Anyway, I have searched the web for info and the exact location on this and came up with nothing. I was hoping some historian type or international people could help with this.

I read Moby Dick and it was an excruciatingly painful experience. For the life of me I can't understand how pontificating about the philosophy on the whiteness of the whale chapter after dragging chapter became a classic. I don't want to start War and Peace unless it can capture my imagination... By the way I didn't especially enjoy Pride and Prejudice either but it was worlds better than Moby Dick!

My friend and I like to write for each other. We write poems, short stories, blogs, etc. Nothing special, just little things. There is no specific format or genre or anything but, after doing this for so long, we seem to have run out of topics. If you have suggestions for good topics, let me know but what I really want to know is how do we find inspiration for new topics or ideas? How can we inspire ourselves and each other?
