Observe animal behavior and note the similarities to human behavior. Study nature, go to a mall or a coffee shop and observe human interactions. Join a Bible study group, youth group, any group and observe, interpret, and then apply what you learn. Journal everything you experience. Take a microtape recorder with you and record observations. Video tape people in public places and then build a life for them. Play the Sims games and try out different roles like the opposite gender and imagine what they would do on a date, as a mate, as a worker, as an artist, put yourself in other people's shoes and imagine. Read science fiction, watch movies, read Jane Austin and get into her head as to her perceptions of life in her century. Her three books have been remade into so many modern movies its unreal--they screen writers beg borrow and steal from older works but contextualize the story. Bridget Jone's Diary for example, is a contemporary redo of one of Jane Austin's books. The characters names are exactly the same and so is the plot but the setting and dialogue are contemporary.
Read ancient literature. You will find that every story takes components from others and places them in a different context. How many comic book characters, book characters, storie characters actually are Biblical characters put into a modern setting?
Study the cultures of other people than yourself. Meet someone and learn about their background and history. Connect with grandparents and greatgrandparents and other seniors, get their perspectives on world-changing events. All these are the foundation for writing great stories. I wish you and your friends the best.

In high school my best friend and I started a tandem writing journal. One of us would start a story and write a few paragraphs. Then we would trade the journal between class periods and the next one would continue the story, changing its direction however they wanted. He and I had a lot of fun with that notebook, and we were never at a loss thinking up crazy scenarios to write down to shock or amuse eachother, and to try to make it more difficult for the next person to write their share. Not only was it fun, but it was a great writing exercise that helped us keep our writing skills sharp for other things like class work and more serious stories we were working on. You might try it, it was lots of fun if nothing else.

When every I write something, it's about my passion that I share with somebody, or about the world today and how it's going to ruin the future generations. But, thats just my opinion.

Flip open the dictionary, find a word, and write the first thing that comes to mind, and don't censor your thoughts, just keep them flowing.

You can find inspiration in your dreams, hopes, fears, problems, in Nature, in Love, or in Art itself.
