Oftentimes, we spend our time without thinking about what we do. We work, have fun, marry our special one, play with our kids, but what is the end of all those things? If we are rich, so what? If we are famous or powerful, so what? Anybody wnt to share with me?

Did the founding fathers and signers of the Declaration debate or even consider to free slaves or mention them in the writing or the Bill of Rights. If they had, maybe we not had all those 100 years of slavery perhaps and no civil war and 300,000 military dead. If the issue was discussed, then was any of it documented, if so where could that be located at. Not homework, I am way too old.

Just imagine you could ask some Angels from the Heavens to fill a basket which you carry with some treasures. What treasures would you ask for? This treasures would be given to you to give to people, to the world or the community. What sort of treasures or virtues or gifts would you like to give?
Please be specific. So don`t say for example only " peace", but describe what this would do for the people or the community or the universe specifically. Do you have a dream or a wish in your soul, which is like a treasure you would like to fill in such a basket and then walk around with it and give to others?

Several years ago i read a book by Clive Cussler where a guy finds a cave holding a vikinng fleet and the nautilus from the book.

All though this was surely a fictional book, a close friend told me that there is some evidence that there might have actually been a sub the story was based on.

While most of the story was surely made up, you also have to take into fact a few things that the book stands out about.

Nuclear sub: the nuclear submarine didnt come into affect untill after World War II (50's or 60's)

the technology

all of this was writen in the 1800's but yet it described a ship that was about 70 or so years too young.

Is there anything that supports there might have actually been this ship?

I am reading Everything's Eventual at the moment (the short story of that name) and I am enjoying it very much. The writing flows very easily and does not seem so mechanical and filled with awful similes as some of the other stories in that collection, esp. Little Sisters. Can anyone recommend any really good Stephen King books so I don't have to wade through the bad stuff? And if they're Dark Tower related, the better! Thanks

here goes; i put 7 35mm camera films into well known shop to be developed, went back 7 days later, was told 1 film had not developed and given negatives, and black photos, the film was from madonna concert at manchester arena, this was almost 2 years ago.
then today im reading a magazine and see 11 of the pics i took across 2 pages,i can prove i took these pics, have been in touch with the so called photographer this morning and he claims he took them, and says he will sue me if i pursue a false claim,
the evidence that i took them is clear to see as seat number is visible on 2 pics, and the 2 girls in front of us will remember us as we were almost ejected for taking the pics in first place.as dancer had been flash blinded and fell night before.
1.how did he get photos, does he have friends that work in photo shops.
2.help,what do i do next
been in touch with magazine too, they were very helpful but its down to photographer.

I'm reading John Grisham's 'The Innocent Man'. Just curious who else has read it. If so, did it change how you feel about the death penalty? About the criminal justice system in the US? How much stock can be put in 'true crime' writing?
Just curious what other Y!A users think! Thanks!

In Roman times. That calculates at many trillion! But that isn't possible since best estimates put world popn. at a few 100 million at that time. I realise that there will be some 'double counting' in this approx calculation but does this account for the difference? Dont forget that was just my ancestors -- What about yours and yours ---------------? Come on you mathematicians there must be a (simple?) answer.
