I attempt to understand what i believe by understanding what i am saying

I'd be in no. 1 category. Though it implies that it requires no solid ground for technicalities, as you said, 'beliefs' it is more like being opinionated. There are things you believe that are possibly non-existing or existing. Most of these beliefs you have have no evidential or factual proof they exist, they will happen, or it happened but you clearly understand and formed your own opinion why they haven't existed or happened yet or vice versa.
Otherwise no.2 category people base their understanding from what they have experienced, learned, and adapted. They have solid factual and relevant grounds to technically understand and prove what they are saying as i have said. Their understanding is brought upon by a prior understanding either those that they have acquired through learning, adapting or have experienced.
This is but the best that I could explain this, it's just a belief but i understand anyway where this belief is coming from.

Neither. I am third category. Things that I believe I know why I believe. I don't say things I don't be live, but I accept and don't try to understand why others believe in some things I don't.

i think i am mature enough and free, to say what i believe. they arent two different things so i belong to both categories

no.1 i totally understand what i believe. if i ddnt i would stop believing in what i believe (lmao). i have done it before. i ddnt understand my religion, so i stopped believin in it. i got something better instead!now i have my own religious belief system.its way more fulfilling! so never believe in something you dnt understand or agree wit.

I'd say both. But they're are times I kick people in the head and the say, "you don't know what your saying". I assure you, I do.
