They only do not come true if you did not really wanted them. If you truly want something deep from your heart, you put all the effort, time and love in it and for sure it will then come true. Sometimes we believe we want something, but if we are really honest we want something else and then this conscious dream will not come true as our heart is not truly behind it. So sometimes we have some conscious goal or dream but our unconsciousness blocks the fulfilment of this goal or dream as our heart had another intention or wish.

Because it's a dream. Take something simple: a chicken sandwich. If I dream of my chicken sandwich, and wait for it to appear out of thin air, I will go hungry. I need to actually go out and make the chicken sandwich, or order it from a restaurant. Then my "dream" will come true: I will be feasting on a yummy chicken sandwich. Dreams don't "come true" without effort on your part. If you want something bad enough, work for it. If it's career related, say a job acting alongside Elisha Cuthbert (lucky you), study up on how to become an actor, then go do it. If it's love, go ask whoever you're eyeing. If they reject you, learn that rejection will come in all walks of life. Nobody is perfect in everything. Maybe make changes. There may be things you have to change to increase your chances of accomplishing your dream. Be it a male learning to cook (or having a gender-altering surgery) so he can work at Hooters Restaurant, or moving to L.A., or some other change...it will probably have to happen. Decide how much you would be willing to change to increase your chances of your dream coming true.
Faith, in a God or yourself, can only take you so far. It can get you through tough times--and in the process of making dreams come true, there will be plenty of these. But relying entirely on faith is going to leave your dreams as just that: dreams. That's fine, too. Nothing wrong with wishing for things to happen without effort. It seems to be the new American dream. Just don't complain when it never happens. A dream come true is when one finds themselves possessing a winning lottery ticket--just being on the good side of chance for a certain day. A "dream come true," as is over-used by politicians and celebrities, is a way to understate their unbelievable amounts of hard work. It sends the impression that anyone can do what they did. That you, too, could be a star in "Bosom Buddies." It may be a way to make themselves appear humble, or it may be a way to keep them looking good in the public's eye. Let's face it, a politician that gets into Congress and says, "I worked hard and I deserve this" appears rather conceited, and won't last very long. That would suggest that anyone who didn't have their dream come true failed in some regard. It sucks to admit it, but it's true. Yes, if the dream is big then it will appear that the entire world is collected against you. But if the dream is worth it, you can work for it and make it happen.

Imagine your self in a place where instead of air the atmosphere filled with dreams, aspirations, hopes, ambitions, wishes and prayers. Just like air based atmosphere there is not even a centimetre of space free, there are no gaps and blanks, every where you see are things of pure energy: golden mists of hope, iridescent glow of happiness, radiant haze of confidence and saturation of contentment dwelling, here you find gentle breeze of someone’s good wish softly flowing past, or a dark patch of some bad intention lurking behind. This in my mind is the world from where our realistic world is formed upon the templates of our expectations. When we hope for, dream about or pray for something, our specific hope, dream or prayer is added up to that higher realm of super reality, and there it resides as we keep these things in our minds and hearts.
Why all that we dream does not get realised into our real world? The possible answer can be that our dreams have to contend with vested interest of others people dreaming, aspiring or intending; our dreams have to be the best, or made best by the power of our faith and conviction, to make it through to real world, to find actualisation. We must remember that we are not alone dreaming, other people have dreams too, and very possible in the same space at the same time, and there can also be negative intentions in the way, and if our dreams cross someone else’s dream or purpose then they stay unrealised into the world of dreams, waiting.
When we dreams well and try our best, we build strong dreams that are more likely to be realised; and when we maintain hope and faith, and continue making efforts our dreams become most visible and very well defined in shape as they wait, until the time when their definition and visibility is so great that they start to match the requirements of our real world.

There was a little girl who longed to have her own horse. She lived in a suburb on the 2nd floor of an apartment building. Raised as a christian she prayed everyday without fail until she was twenty but the angels never gave her a horse. She lost all faith in miracles and no longer prayed for anything. She worked hard and believed you make your own luck. Her desires changed over the years and she forgot all about the horse. In her early thirties she felt fed-up with the city and moved to the country. Her cottage was perfect and her neighbours had massive land. They were in need of extra cash and decided to sell off part of their land. She made an offer and got the land at a very reasonable price. The deal was sealed and her neighbours decided to throw in a beautiful stallion as a thank-you. Sometimes we ask amiss and when our dream is not turned to reality ASAP we loose faith and grumble. When it arrives after we have given up hope we miss the connection. Dreams always come true but few remain patient and alert for their arrival. Keep the faith.

I suspect it to be that someone has already claimed the dream and there has been given only so much space for only the chosen few to live out the dream, once they have completed their life span within that space, room will be made available for the next group of dream believers.

Because dreams are for naive people! dreaming is simply a creative way to escape reality, dreams are simply that an imagination, but will not come true! ( I am not a cynic, and even i dream, but one must be realistic about dreams)

Dreaming is wonderful. And by effort they can become reality. However you do need the skills to get there. NLP and Coaching develop the tools. look on the web, the Liberty and E Bay for the tools.
