They didn't. While Greek influence some aspects of government and religion, most of the ideas that benefited Rome were of Roman invention.

Infrastructure: Rome built roads and aqueducts on a monumental scale, tying entire coutries and trade routes together under the Roman flag. The Greeks did not do this.

Culture: The Romans allow local citizenry to retain much of their original culture, allowing (for the most part) local governments to stay intact, with only regional Roman oversight. The Greeks were not consistent in this practice.

Monetary: Romes unified the monetary system in their conquered lands, creating an economic dependence as well as a social one. The Greeks never fully established this in captured lands.

Military: The professional military system in Rome was substantial, and long term. Soldiers served their entire adult lifetimes, and enjoyed status and privaledge. The Greek's military was far more itinerant.

The Romans were very a lot incorporatists--they were given thoughts from throughout and integrated them into their personal society. before each and every thing they'd little contact with Greeks, they were given their Greek thoughts through the Etruscans who had a brisk commerce with the Greeks. ultimately the Romans swallowed them up, spread through the Mediterranean and had direct contact with the Greeks. in addition they borrowed from the Egyptians etc. seem at their language--they did not communicate Roman, they Spoke Latin, the Latins were a diverse tribe that the Romans conquered/integrated early on as they took over the Italian peninsula. seem at their pantheon of gods--many are borrowed from different cultures--they not in any respect discarded a god, they purely saved including them and also equating their personal community gods with those they encountered elsewhere--that is why Jupiter and Zeus are considered a similar, Ares and Mars, Juno & Hera to call some. They were a lot less innovators than borrowers, yet they were very quick to study from others.

They didn't, they incorporated whatever worked, they only won when they made their plans fit the battle, the ability to improvise, and work in unison either in production, colonizing or war, like a huge efficient machine, is what makes an empire. And like all others, they fell apart and rotted from within.
