He used to stand on his soap-box [metaphorically] and tell us all what to think and believe in, when his own personal life was such a mess. Why does academia indulge in him?

To Kill a Mockingbird -- Since Scout is the narrator of the book, and is also a main character of the book, I got really confused about her comment near the end of the book:
"...neighbors give in return. We never put back into the tree what we took out of it: we had given him nothing, and it made me sad"
Is that the ADULT-Scout Narrator or the CHILD-Scout in the book?

i just thought of something.

when we evolved we became human. human are more intelligent and evolution pushes us forward. that is why we have deeper thought and awarness of inner self and conciousness. that the purpose of it. but as the very first thinking humans (the stage right past neanderthals) they had the beleif in a god at least in a inner god and spiritual self. and beleifs that there was an after life. obviousely the first intelligent thinking beings must have understood and perceived a type of god without someone before having to tell them.

how can you perceive and beleive in a god if you have never seen it and nobody before has thought it up?? therefore somehow there must be an immortal self that we are aware of on a certian level correct?

and if you think of the following:

how did the physical dimention come about? and i dont mean the big bang because obviousely there was a dimention for it to exist in to make it possible. and no energy actualy dies, it just forms into a new source of energy. and if you think about the string theory and quantom physics it shows that the tiny string of energy that make up everything including atoms actualy slip in and out of existence yet they cant figure out where its going and what is creating it.

It seems more important than "Thou must honor thy mother and father." A baby/child is helpless, and honor should be earned. If you agree, than whoever wrote the 10 Commandments made a mistake, right?

Why was Drake the essential "Batman" of Elizabethan England? And, what did Drake do that sparked the flames of interest in the english people to the extent they were a wildfire of myth producing gossipers. Why should Drake be remembered in history at all.

So, I started writing this book to take place in late 1600s early 1700s France, but Ive found it is really hard to keep all the facts straight about distance and actual places and all that jazz. I was thinking of modifying the book so that the name of the place it occurrs in never actually appears, or i just make up a place.
any ideas?
please help.
