Why were you stunned? If you were stunned, you're obviously outside the mainstream of the 50+ crowd thinking. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I was just wondering what your feelings were.

Myself, I would go with Franklin D. Roosevelt. Certainly not Bill Clinton. And Reagan or Bush? No, no way on this earth.

I don't know what the poll in the aarp magazine said. I personally think it was Abraham Lincoln. Not only did he free the slaves, but he kept our country together in that the South did not secede from the Union.
