For example: 0 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. Or 0 11 10 9 8 7 6. Sometimes there's letters next to them like UNV (or WCD) 10 9 8 7 . Most of the books I own have these numbers, so I assume they must mean something, but what?

I am a mom of 3 small children (6,4, and 4 months). I have been married for 7 years. I work two days a week as a nurse at the local hospital. I have tons of dreams and desires that I think of every day and wish they were attainable. I want to learn to dance (really dance, not the club type dancing). I want to get a tummy tuck and have breast implants (not to impress anyone, but to make me happy with myself), with my husband's full support. I want to learn a new language or 3. There are so many things I want to do with my life and I feel like I am capable of so much more than what I am now. I am working on my assoc. degree in nursing right now thru Excelsior College. That is at least one step in the right direction. What are your suggestions? How do I determine the achievable from the impossible? Any advice would be welcome.

TIA,
rhainnedroppe

Few people that I know of are able to see the beauty in the macabre, like in the gothic poems and classic horror stories from writers such as Edgar Allan Poe, Dante and alike. I will grant that many like these stories due to there being classics however not many that I know of show any indication of the appreciation of the beauty of the dark and macabre art form.

Is this an accurate assessment?

What do you think that it means to see beauty in tales such as The Inferno, The Raven, and The Child in the Grave?

Can these stories teach our modern day society any lessons? And if so what?

Please explain your answers.

I thank you in advance for your insight.

ISSUE 6. Were Internal Factors Responsible for the Fall of the Roman Empire?

YES: Antonio Santosuosso, from Storming the Heavens: Soldiers, Emperors, and Civililians in the Roman Empire (Westview Press, 2001)

NO: Peter Heather, from “The Huns and the End of the Roman Empire in Western Europe,” The English Historical Review (February 1995)

History professor Antonio Santosuosso states that the Roman Empire’s inability to cope w/ demands involving the defense of the empire was responsible for its demise. Professor of history Peter Heather claims that the invasion of the Huns forced other barbarians 2 use tribal unity as a survival technique and to seek safety w/in the confines of the Roman Empire.

....Im on the yes side wat can i say??

I've noticed that paperback editions of some books (mostly fiction) are not released until after the hardcover version has been out for 6 months to a year? Is this based on hardcover sales? I'm thinking that more people would buy the paperback version instead of a big, bulky hardcover, so why not release them concurrently or sooner? I hate the wait!

i've done 2 one-act competitions so far. the one my freshmen year we got disqualifyed because someones sister videotaped the play after we told them NOT TO... then this year, we got 4th out of 7.... and im telling you, technically, we were much better than the 2nd place! they constantly blocked each other, and turned their back to the audience and we were told that those are teh two MAIN no-no's in competition.. the only got it because their play was just plain creepy... it was 'Bad Seed'.. if you've seen it you know why its creepy. the winners ofcourse won because.. 1) they have over 150 people in the drama program and they had 65 actors in their one-act play.. and it was Bye-Bye Birdie.. AND they had home-stage advantage.. so of course they won, there was never any doubt to that.. 3rd was a play we didnt see because they were before us and we were getting dressed but it was a sad love story called 'love letters' that i heard was good.
This year we want to stand out..any suggestions?

it's on the poem "Advice to My Son" by Peter Meinke.
my teacher told me that would be a GREAT poem to do it on, but i have a hard time trying to understand the hidden meaning in poems. i get the general idea that the parent is trying to give advice to their son, but what is the "hidden" theme? i ESPECIALLY get thrown off my the last line. can someone please look up the poem online and help. it would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I like the present tense in writing. It has an 'artistic,' in 'development' appeal.
