i've done 2 one-act competitions so far. the one my freshmen year we got disqualifyed because someones sister videotaped the play after we told them NOT TO... then this year, we got 4th out of 7.... and im telling you, technically, we were much better than the 2nd place! they constantly blocked each other, and turned their back to the audience and we were told that those are teh two MAIN no-no's in competition.. the only got it because their play was just plain creepy... it was 'Bad Seed'.. if you've seen it you know why its creepy. the winners ofcourse won because.. 1) they have over 150 people in the drama program and they had 65 actors in their one-act play.. and it was Bye-Bye Birdie.. AND they had home-stage advantage.. so of course they won, there was never any doubt to that.. 3rd was a play we didnt see because they were before us and we were getting dressed but it was a sad love story called 'love letters' that i heard was good.
This year we want to stand out..any suggestions?

Honey Moaners skit

Twilight zone skit. Have the narrator come in dressed as on TV too. That would be funny and Rad.But of course pick one that has an interesting plot to it.

Do Abbit and Castello skits.

Tales from the Crypt skit

These are all things everyone can relate too.

Sunday Tea With Desiree
I just came off this show, 2 men 6 women, for the most part the women sit and talk, slight movement from a few characters, but not enough to cause a block of action. A very nice show!

Bang Band You're De@d.

Excuse the @ sign, but parental controls are a pain. BBYD is a very powerful play based on High School sho0tings. One of our seniors did this as her senior project recently. The only problem with the play and your group is that there are only ten people in the cast. Visit www.bangbangyouredead.com for more information.
