I read that the more you open and close jpeg files, the more they will deteriorate and someone suggested saving all photos at a .tiff file? Anyone have some insight or help with this?

I mean to ask that in this trecherous and mean world where do you draw the line between what is virtuous and what is not. What may seem totally wrong to some may seem absolutely right for some and if you hear to them, each of them have their convictions and arguments right. Then how do you differentiate?
