Slavery was abolished throughout the British Empire in 1833, but prior to that slavery existed in the Cape colony. After South Africa became independant the Boers did not go back to slavery (it probably didn't suit their farming practises anyways), although obviously the black population was exploited and subject to segregation/apartheid.

Yes,
It was VERY common to enslave the entire population of the conquered tribe. That was not restricted to Africa either as that practice was considered normal and expected world-wide.
What changed was the sudden appearance of people in boats that would PAY for the slaves. This gave tribal nations such as the Zulu a marvelous opportunity to not only get rid of their rival tribes but to profit off of it as well. Now they could get kinves and spear points for nothing more than a captive that they were about to kill anyway.....

No, slavery isn't allowed in South Africa. specific, our shape is hailed worldwide huge because it places intense emphasis on human rights. however the element of wealthy vs poor consistently comes into play. wealthy business enterprise human beings exploiting the desperately poor. it fairly is not elementary besides the undeniable fact that, all and sundry is completely conscious of their rights as we communicate. Labour unions and so on help the conventional worker. i'm not asserting "slavery" would not exist, yet it fairly is an an severe case.

Yes--it was called Apartheid. The white minority had the political power and a tyrannical rule over the black majority population. It was overthrown about 15-20 years ago.
